I have not read namesake but i have read lahiri's Interpreter of maladies. So i cud relate to the charaters and mood of the film.I absolutely loved the movie and i am surprised that u didnt mention the scene where Irfan Khan is waiting in a queqe at the airport and the look on his face while Tabu le...aves after dropping him.....But u r right. The characters have really carried the entire movie on their shoulders.Shudder to think what actors of lesser calibre wud have done to the movieRead More

Thanks for ur comments. In retrospect i wud definitely want to knock off some from my list.Face Off and Step Mom is off.I would like to add One flew over the cuckoo's nest and Million Dollar Baby instead I do agree that life is beautiful is an Italian film dubbed in English. But an exceptional ...film like that deserves some exceptional treatment. No 'Best List ' on movies would be complete without it.I dont think any film on war has been handled in such an optimistic manner Erin Brokovich V/s Pretty Woman?????Tuf choice indeed. But Pretty Woman was so fresh and even Richard Gere's wooden expressions were so damn sexy.......All in all a very light fairy tale. After reading ur review i decided to go in for Sony T7.But i was told that the camera is so thin that at times its cumbersome handling it.So i asked a friend of mine to buy T5.He got it from Singapore for 18K alongwith 256mn memory stick and case.Do u think it is a good deal?

I completely agree with u except the praises u have showered on Ms Rai.I found her acting too mediocre Maybe an actress of Tabu or Nandita Das' caliber wud have added a new dimension to the role and wud have taken the movie to higher levels.I watched it with two of my colleagues and one of them had... a severe headache after watching Ms Rai.She was quite annoying.Ajay Devgan was as usual effortless Read More

U r right.I honestly feel this movie shud be made tax free and be made part of compulsory viewing. I am not sure whether the movie wud go well with th e general janata here.If movies like Jism and Ab Bas are declared to be hits then I really dont kno what we can say about the general viewers' st...andards I do hope this movie is watched by every single Indian in this worldRead More

Gr8 revu.I really enjoyed the movie though I was not a SRK fan.I dont think i have seen this kind of idealism in any of the movies that are being churned out these days. This film has really changed my views about SRK.He is really a good actor though he has been stuck with stupid college-guy role...s. The train sequence where he finally drinks water from the railway station is def one of the best scenes of the movie Read More

All the songs listed are real gems. However two of my all time favourites are Aap ki aankhon mein mehke hua se khwab hai fron Ghar and mera kuch saaman from Izazat. The lyricist is Gulzar in both the cases and rendition by the Lata(the first one) and Asha(The secon one) is simply amazing. Both the song...s grow on u and everytime i listen to them i am simply transported to heaven. These are the two songs which i feel shud for part of any list of eternal, unforgettable romantic hindi songs.Ofcourse its strictly my personal choices. I am quite surprised to note that except for one none of Gulzar's works features on ur list.......Read More

I am a hard core Ayn R@nd fan and honestly this is the first time i am reading a review that does not recommend Fountainhead. Let me take ur own example of putting man on moon singlehandedly to drive home my point. Nowhere in the book is it mentioned that Roark constructs buildings on his own.It...s the kind of people that he works with that make all the difference.People with integrity.People who worship their work.Just look at the kind of people he works with.Nothing matters to Roark except 'professionalism' which is what most of the companies expect these days.......... Well ,i must admit that it was quite refreshing to read ur review. Keep writing.......Read More

Gr8 review.Liked the way you have described some real life situations and explained the significance of the poem. I love this poem too. This comes second in my list of favourite poems , the first one being 'Stopping by woods on a snowy evening' by Robert Frost.

I personally think its one of the finest movies ever made.......So full of hope and inspiration. The scene where Tim Robbins locks the room and plays music for all prisoners to listen.....Classy stuff.Watched it long time back but some of the scenes remain etched in my memory

Good revu. Love most of the songs that figured in ur list.I feel that these two numbers of Gulzar/R.D shud have found a place on ur list.' Mera Kuch Saamaan from Ijazat.' and Aapki aankhon mein kuch meheke hue se Khwab hai - Absolute gems. The second one ranks number One in my Top Love songs lis...t. Then another Guru Dutt /Hemant Kumar Number 'Jaane who Kasie Log the Jinko pyar ko pyaar mila' from Pyaasa also comes to my mind.........All these songs actually tend to grow on u and everytime one hears them, one gets a feeling that something was missed out earlier and the song doesn't seem to be the same as was heard earlier....... Well those were absolutely my choices...... So keep those revus flowing.......how about a revu on 20 best English love songs??????? Read More
