Mathur Sahab! How can I thank you not only for writing this review but also reminding me of the same. It is really a very objective review and you have usefully penned your thoughts while going through the book which is what a review should be. Thanks once again and heartfelt regards.

Enjoyed your review and take on the film. I enjoyed watching the movie. The songs are very good and so is the performances. Thanks for keeping my wish at last. :) However, I do not think the director intended any generalization. These are just glimpses of complex life of contemporary times more s...o in the milieu of cosmopolitan living where exposure, cross mingling and taking undue advantage of situation and people are high. But you are right so is the face of small towns changing rapidly.Read More

Have you ever heard of a comic horror movie which has equally intense measures of horror as well as comedy seamlessly blended together with a powerful social message to boot? My query generates from a watcher’s experience. I have mostly seen comic horror movies getting stripped down to such path...Read more

When in teens, I was not much bothered about romantic novels. I am emphasising on novels because in those days modes of entertainment were very limited. It was either books or occasional movies. Internet was nowhere in the picture. Television had only just appeared in the scene. That too black a...Read more

Very nice review. Envy all those great men who die while doing their job like Adul Kalaam and Ravindra Jain. Immortal souls they would always be remembered with respect and gratitude for showing the world how to live life in an exceptional manner.

The only thing that I have learnt in so many years of following the path that my conscience allowed me to take is one should be at peace with him/her own self. No one can change the world. No one can change others too. It is futile to expect that your truth will be acceptable and admired by all. It not because everyone has their own versions of truth. But more important to me now, at the last leg of my career (or carrier?) that whether I am able to justify my actions to my conscience and able to have a good night's sleep after a day's hard work. Nothing more and nothing less. Rest, whether honesty is worshiped or not, whether the good is able to win over the evil or not, whether truth prevails forever or not, are only issues of debate. Do what you believe in and feel comfortable with. It's known to all and sundry that in this kali yug the devil is the king. Then why worry and repent? Be happy. If you are at peace being with the devil be with the devil. If you are happy being angelic, be an angel. There is no point in lamenting. It is to each according to his/her own. RegardsRead More

@jmathur, my observations on your comment: (1) While the movie has resulted in many subjective reviews (some on MS too) I do not think the object of the movie is to build public opinion in favour of the Talwars. If we believe so, then it will naturally follow that the entire celluloid drama is motiv...ated. Did Talwars ask Vishal Bhardwaj to make a movie which will sentimentalize the issue in their favour? (2) It is also a fact that many TeamYesh and sub-TeamYesh were hatched during the time and course of investigation which is still a mystery (3) After having read the entire interview recommended by you I feel the movie has only one objective that is to point out the flaws in the system and that there is a strong possibility of an alternate view (4) The story has to begin from somewhere so it begins from the Talwars but not necessarily tilts towards them. There are n number of question marks ingrained in the script itself. First and foremost is Nutan Tandon's exclamation on finding the body accusing Khempal right away, the door of Shruti's bedroom being locked from outside, the complete absence of mother's intuition that something wrong was happening to her daughter in the adjacent room and so on and so forth. (5) I feel viewers have taken a subjective view because of the strong screen presence of the protagonist, Irfan Khan, and the injustice done to his career at the corporate level (6) Finally, why Aarushi case and why not the Nthari case which took place during near about that time ...I think it is because the former shook the foundation of Middle Class core values, parents coldbloodedly murdering their only child and the inherent element of high power drama therein and most importantly the basic question 'wherein lies the truth?' and 'wherein should the public repose its faith?' - the Police, the CBI and other investigative agencies or the Judiciary...Read More
