I agree..I practically fell asleep while watching it. The acting was horrendous and the whole storyline was....what story???

I am an adult who bought a bottle of Johnson's baby oil. Even I got a rash!! Imagine what it must have done to babies?? By the way, here in the US, Johnson has another more expensive brand called Aveeno which is recommended for babies by doctors. Maybe J & J is pushing its more expensive brand over ...the cjeaper one..Read More

I love Seinfeld too! And George is awesome. I watch Seinfeld pretty much everyday but there are still some episodes that I haven't seen. George's whole family is a riot, isn't it? And how could you forget Mr Peterman..Elaine's boss?
Nice review...

I haven't seen the movie but I loved your review. Everyone has been raving about the movie and about the 'sensitive' performances. Firstly, its a blatant ripoff of a Korean movie (A Moment to Remember) and as you say, Kajol and Ajay need to stop pretending to be a young, first-love couple. It looks ...terrible because both are in their late 30s. I stopped seeing Kajol's movies post-K3G because she was extremely annoying in that one.
I also like that you classified the movie genre as 'Horror'...tee hee...

Didn't you think the end was weird? I enjoyed the book a lot till they fell into the ditch and then it simply became bizarre. Anyways, nice review... :)

The genre was 'dark comedy' or 'black comedy'. Even I thought it wasn't that great. It could have been much better though, but Rajat Kapoor faltered towards the end.

I totally envy you! I wish someone would send me to Istanbul for training.. :)
That was a nice review. I also feel that the Turkish look very European, rather than middle-eastern/Arabic. They seem very sophisticated. And Turkish kababs are yummmmmy!

Thanks for the very useful information. It is so sad that doctors are unethical and cause harm to patients just to make money. Its not like they earn less. Maybe you should try to approach the consumer forum or some medical board for this issue. The doctor needs to provide you a basic level of servi...ce and that was not given. You should also consider writing a letter to some newspaper about this. Don't let the doctor get away easily. Good luck!Read More

Very nice review. I loved the movie. Deepti Naval and Dimple Kapadia in a movie, what a wonderful combination! Besides the great acting, Dimple's saris were really gorgeous.. :)

Perfectly reviewed! I felt the same about the movie. Everyone acted wonderfully but the script was too jerky. For once I felt that a movie should have been longer.

Dinesh,
Thanks for your comments. Am happy to know at least someone agrees with me.. :). I too thought that the kid OK, but apparently we cannot say that because it offends a lot of people.
You are right in comparing the 2 child actors. Joel Osment left such a deep impression on me, I could n...ot get his face out of my head. But with Darshil, I wanted him to go away as we were watching the movie.
I am looking forward to Aamir's next movie though. I want to see how he does without the creative backing of Amol Gupte.
Thanks again!

Good review!
The problem is that we Indians have such a socialist mindset that we feel that the government must do something for us all the time. So according to this logic, the Maharashtra government should do more for Marathis, Gujarat government for Gujaratis, etc. When do we start taking res...ponsibility for our own actions? If a person belonging to a particular state is losing a job to an outsider, shouldn't he/she ask themselves - 'What is lacking in me' and try to fix that.
Raj Thackerey is doing the same ghisa-pita thing his uncle did 20 years ago, until the realization dawned on him that Mumbai is what it is because of its cosmopolitan nature.
If people ask for reservations/preference for jobs in their native states, how is that different from the SC/ST/OBC reservations? It is simply one more division along community lines.
And in this whole chaos everyone seems to have forgotten that the real outsiders are Bangladeshis who today probably feel more secure in Maharashtra than Indians do.Read More

I agree with you. For online shopping to be successful, you need:
1) Large product variety online
2) User-friendly navigation
3) Low shipping or free shipping with big orders
4) Option of returns if product is disliked by customer plus ease of return
5) Excellent delivery network
Online sh...opping in India can do 1 and 2 but 3-5 are far away. Check this site - zappos.com. Its a shoe site available in the US and I think its one of the best online sites out there. It should be a model for others.Read More

arslan,
Your comments are so much better than the movie... :)
You have put the whole concept of what the movie is 'supposed' to be very well. But I just did not feel the emotions the movie was trying to evoke.
As I said before, if the movie succeeds in it what its set out to do, it is good ...for society. But it just doesn't do anything for me.
You are very articulate and eloquent. You should write more.Read More

I think the problem with CCD is the same as the one with the IT industry - high rate of attrition/turnover. You train the staff and by the time they learn, they have another offer standing by. Also, most of the people working there must be doing it for some extra cash over the summer holidays.
W...hy don't you write to CCD about your experiences? Its possible that they don't get any feedback from customers on this, so don't know about it.
Another well-written review, you should write more often... :)Read More

Really good review! I somehow feel nostalgic about the neighborhood kirana stores. Can a supermarket ever know you by your first name, give you credit or take your grocery list over the phone? Of course there are advantages too - lower prices, wider selection, etc.
I personally feel that Big Ba...zaar has started it off but will soon lose out in big cities. The ones I have visited are dirty, crowded and stocked with outdated products. We also have a Shoprite near the local Big Bazaar and I can see people preferring it.
Anyways, it was nice to read your review. We do live in interesting times, as far as the Indian retail industry is concerned.Read More

PJ, what gave you the idea that I liked Chak De? Well, I did like a few scenes though. The one in which the girls beat up the guys..I wouldve worked in that scene for free... :)
