Let me say it right away that I went to watch Jaane Tu Jaane Na (JTJN) because it had music by AR Rahman and he didnt disappoint. The music might not be in the category of Rang de basanti or Guru but it had a youthful feel to it and kinda grows on you. That was the first and last point I liked in the movie. The movie starts off in the style of Chalte Chalte (what is it now days with directors resorting to bedtime like story telling, it was the same case with Jhoom Barabar Jhoom).

Imran Khan plays this chocolatey kinda character Jai who has recurrent dreams of a masked man atop a horse (also seen in Zanjeer) whom Imran thinks is his Dad. The suspense about the man on the horse is revealed only in the end. Jai and Aditi (Genelia) are the closest couple, sorry "friends", you have ever seen. They do everything together but are not in love with each other, hohum....... Why are Indian filmakers trying to ape the hollywood films in this regard, I will never know.

"We are just friends, nothing else" Anyways, the story is revealed by their other friends to an airhostess (who does not like airports) at an airport. The starting of the film is ok, and I mean that only because of the fact that it reminded me of chalte chalte's style of narration. But that is where the good part ends. Then you have these four friends who have all the money and time in the world to hang out with each other and not care about their future.

The movie is really kiddish in its execution and I think that is why Aamir Khan did not promote the movie whole heartedly.

The only fun parts in the movie is the talking potrait of Naseeruddin Shah and the two cowboys played by Sohail and Arbaaz Khan.

Nothing more to write about a waste of a movie.........
