I had done my LASIK treatment(Zyoptix method) in Jul'06 in Eye foundation, COimbatore and I paid 35000 for both the eyes. Before going for this treatment, I had asked lots of questions on success rate, side effects etc to the doctors in the hospital. I got updated that the success rate is 99.99%(which was wrong). They said no side effects too. My prescription was less than -2(spherical) on both my eyes with some cylindrical power too. After 1.5 yrs, my vision was not good and I got Headache and felt strain in my eyes and consulted a doc in Bangalore.
He confirmed me that I have got some power back on my eyes and gave the prescription. So I ended up in doing a thorough check up on my eyes with one more specialised centre and the conclusion was I got some power back. So again I went to Eye foundation to check why it has happened to me. Firstly I was not treated well. Over the phone(from Bangalore), I told them my problem and they gave me an appointment.
So when I went there they did all the test and finally I met Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy who did LASIK for me. She was keep on telling me my CORNEA is weak and I need to go for another treatment which will cost me Rs.15000 per eye. She didnt talk anything about the LASIK and why I have got back my power.
(i). She was so money-minded and
(ii). She was taking me to some other direction of another surgery and making me get scared instead of supporting me or explaining why it happened. I asked for a summary report and copy of Scans taken but she refused and said its hospital policy. I got info now from some other EYE centre that LASIK is suggested for people who have power greated than -4 and success rate is not 99.99% My concern is these hospitals are so money minded, they dont update patients about who should go for such treatments and what is the success rate. So please be careful when you go for LASIK treatment. Please check the power and success rate.
I DONT SUGGEST EYE FOUNDATION HOSPITAL TO ANYONE. Please be careful and dont go to this hopsital for LASIK treatment.
