Hi Sujata
Very pleased to see your review and enjoyed it throughout. Few of the songs mentioned are my favs - like the one mentioned in Omkara. Your description is always beautiful and this made me listen the the songs again.

Hi Preran
First of all, I like the honesty in your review. And your introduction is also very good. Overall nice review but it could have contained more points supporting for the 3 Star rating. I am a bit 'let down' by that :)

Nice, sweet and precise review. Will watch it for Anupam Kher and Boman Irani.

'I think Anu Malik is least responsible for this as we have G.V. Prakash (A.R.Rahman’s nephew) on credits for Music programming and arrangements.'
Once again, you fail to give Anu Malik credit where he deserves and instead use this review to praise Rahman. And that's not the first time.
Yes t...he programming is by this guy but the tunes are by Anu Malik. Without the tunes and melody, programming is nothing. But I have to admit that it does help in enhancing the songs to some extent. The programmer deserves mention as well but cannot take full credit.
The thoughts on the music and music industry are good though.
Sorry about these comments but I was expecting more from this review.
Cheers

Some interesting points in this review, which focuses more on the inside story with particular attention to details. Very observant!
Good review.

Hey Pras!
How is it going? Smashing review and liked the 'Spot the Brand Contest' lines..lol. Saw the movie y'day. It had an impact; esp Dr. Arya and of course Hrithik. But the way Dr. Arya died was too quickly executed. Music was below average. Else, value for money movie.

Your choice on Anu Malik's songs is right. These were the songs that made AM who he is today. He should compose these type of tunes again. This is the true Malik. 'Phool Aur Angaar' has all good songs.

If you looked for controversy, you got it dude. Give this guy his due somewhere. Once they picked up on Bappi Lahiri, then on Anu Malik and now there is Himesh Reshammiya. He's not excellent but he is just doing his job. Before ABA, no one wrote about him. Now, everyone! This just shows that when so...meone is successful, ppl will be after them.

Girish,
Overall, a nice writing and research. I also went for Yahoo because it was so popular in 2000. Hotmail sucks. Gmail is OK.

Overall a good technical review and I like the part where you analyse the indian song. Yes most of them are right. More can be added but the main are there.
Now coming to your first paragraph. I didn't expect a few lines from you being an old music reviewer on MS.
Yes Anu Malik did compose all... the songs in Asoka. There shouldn't be any doubt about that. When he decides that it's only original, others go gaga over it.
My point is just that there is no doubt about AM in Asoka. He gave his best and it shocked all his distractors.
Coming to this Fanaa album, it's a good one. My fav being Chand Sifarish which may be a little like the Adnan Sami track but it's a JL composition made for YRF.

Hey Ali
Aashiqui Meri is one of the best songs I have listened from Himesh. He is progressing but many prefer his old style.
Funky review :)

Hello there!
Nice to see your view and mentioning the upcoming music directors. It's good that you haven't mentioned too many commercial MDs and striked the right balance with MDs like Bapi-Tutul.
I would list
1. Himesh R
2. Vishal-Shekhar
3. Salim-Sulleiman
4. Bapi-Tutul
5. Ranjit Bar...ot
Keep writing :)

Hey there :)
50th! Congrats! You said many of the true stuff in this review. So congrats again! However, some of these have already been debated well before. But it's good that you pointed them out :)
Many people will not rate reviews for xyz reasons. For a paragraph, a line, mistakes as well.... Some members, including myself, don't give ratings so easily. Everyone has a criteria for rating. However, some will rate blindly without reading a word. Watch out for these ones because they will fake a comment and make you a fool by telling you that they found the review good or whatever stuff.
One member wrote something very striking about MS 1.5 years ago. He had to leave because many members couldn't bear the truth.
All I can tell you is that MS has changed a lot since 2003; when I signed.
But hey, it's more or less a great place and keep writing everyone :)
You know why I haven't rated :) :-D
Cheers!
