Originality:

Hi friends,

Kareena Kapoor is beautiful. Not just irresistible, she’s simply stunning. My fascination with her continues, and I find it easier to study more, rather than to remove my eyes away from her. She has killing looks, I tell you.

Himesh Reshammiya, since Aashiq Banaya Aapne [ABA] has been under severe criticism from the media for sticking to what stuck gold once. But with this film starring the gorgeous actress [Sorry, can’t refrain myself from her mention!], Himesh is set to prove his critics wrong. By looking at the various aspects he was accused at, and what he came up with here, it is clear that Himesh is the best in business even minus his copyright image.

Sameer pens some above-average lyrics that are more than set to advantage by Reshammiya’s pulsating score !

---------------

Accusation #1: Post ABA, Himesh has made his own trademark to start most of his songs with a cynical ’’Ooooooooo’’, and the tradition has been following in all his albums. While some compare his nasal rendition to mosquitoes, others feel that he doesn’t want to do something else, and hence, complain of lack of variety in his albums.

Result: 36 China Town starts off with Aashiqui Mein Teri, which is pretty much like his previous works, yet so much unlike it. The number that has been on the television for pretty long now, it will be no surprise if the Himesh and Sunidhi Chauhan crooned number reigns the music charts for months at a go. Musically a fast-paced and a foot tapping number, this is one dazzler that besides setting the screen on fire, should blast the stereos of your house. Himesh sings in his regular mode, but its Sunidhi’s vocals that give a fresh and hip feel to this number targeted at the youth.

The remix is one for you to hear before you read on the analysis. The beats are strong, and mind you, this won’t make you sway. Initially, I thought my music system had some minor problem, but later realized of the bizarre intentions of Akbar Sami that will have the discotheques playing this all night!

---------------------

Accusation #2: Himesh has lost his touch. He can only attract the youth by his oh-so-silly promotional numbers. He can never match the likes of Vishal-Shekhar or for that matter, S-E-L. This makes him a cheap composer, who is appreciated by the lower strata of the public and not much by the so-called civilized people.

Result: You will change your opinion for sure after you lend a ear to 24/7 I Think of You. Looking at the strange title, you wonder what kind of a song this might be. Basically a peppy number about thinking your better half 24/7, its one with class stamped on it. A romantic number by all standards, Himesh makes it a great listen by the vigorous arrangements to which Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan give their best, and this one will be popular among the youth brigade in no time, just the effect that ’’My Dil goes Hmmm..’’ had on them last year. Apart, with either Kareena or Tanushree Datta for the song to be filmed on, this acts as a bonus.

One wonders how can there be a remix of a number that’s already quite racy, and Akbar Sami is not to be blamed if he has just added a few beats here and there. A decent one, but you’ll still be humming the original version 24/7 !

---------------------

Accusation #3: Himesh is a strict no-no for singing romantic numbers. He is a perfect fit for maintaining the reputation for the kinds of songs he has created for himself since ABA, and shouldn’t try to do something extravagant.

Result: Rock Your Body. Yes, this is what you’ll do when you listen to the groovy Dil Tumhare Bina with a combination of singers as weird as Himesh and the romance specialist Alka Yagnik. The song starts somewhat like the initial feel of ’Samjho Na’, and you expect a sad, mournful number. But soon, Himesh shifts gears and takes a complete U-turn taking you by complete surprise. The Himesh-Alka factor works in a big way, and though this is no soft and sweet melodious material, its a bona fide material that, alongwith the others, succeeds in captivating your interest, and makes you look forward to the ones to follow.

Sunidhi Chauhan replaces Alka in the remix version, and does full justice to her selection. With the youth factor in hand and a pacy style, Sunidhi makes the remix a pleasure to listen to. Note also the English lyrics in the between which acts as an icing on the cake, and this one turns out to be the best remix so far. Extraordinary!

---------------------

Accusation #4: Himesh starts off pretty well these days, but loses rhythm mid-way. A few of the beginning tracks in his albums are superhits, but within, the album is completely hollow. In short, the cover is attractive, but the letter within is plain ordinary, with nothing much to rave about.

Result: Dilchaspi Hai comes at a time when the listener is having a blast with each track beating the other. The tempo is carried forward by the time K.K. comes behind the mike. Talking about having an interest in your beloved, K.K. makes most of the opportunity given to him out here. The song has a distinct Himesh Reshammiya touch, and this Arya-accompanying composition is a situational one which will gel well with the flow of the movie. Audio-wise, excellent stuff! You sure won’t regret this one!

Extravagant arrangements follow the original in the remix version of the same, which is more rocking than the former one. Shake it up!

---------------------

Accusation #5: Himesh Reshammiya of the yore is missing these days. The man who gave us a stupendous collection like Humraaz, Tere Naam, Ishq Hai Tumse, etc., has not lived up to his name since he came into the limelight with ABA. We are really waiting for him to get back to his usual mode. ’Banaras’ was an exception, but composed way back.

Result: A bit similar to ’Seedhe Saade’ (Socha Na Tha), Jab Kabhi is an ultimate lovable one for you. Kunal Ganjawala continues to be in supreme form which makes this one all the more enjoyable. You’ll be disappointed if you expect a ’Woh Tasavvur’ (Aitraaz) in a film like this one, but being the sole romantic duet [in the literal sense!] in the album, it creates a lasting impression. Alka Yagnik appears in the end to assure the male counterpart of his feelings. The song has no antaras, and the mukhra continues throughout. This, however, doesn’t dampen the spirit of the song, and in this respect, is much similar to the mentioned song from ’Aitraaz’.

Ending on a good note, there are two remixes of it - one by Akbar Sami, and the other by Suketu. Both are quite nice in their own way, though Suketu’s should have been avoided, with a remix of each of the five tracks, all by Akbar.

---------------

Need I say more? I think I don’t. And in the rare event that I think, I am never wrong. So how many of you have already heard the soundtrack? Given your answer is positive, how did you find it? If negative, when are you planning to do so? Do spare a precious moment of yours to rate the review and leave behind a comment!

And finally... Isn’t Kareena an absolute stunner??

Cheers !
