Thank you for the above review. I was contemplating to apply for this card as I'm attracted to the 10% cash back offer on movie tickets(I'm a movie buff). So I guess I'll go for it.... :) Regards, Manu

Hi there, fantastic review.... frankly, I wuz a bit tired reading Orhan's lengthy details about the paintings & the like. But the plot is too good. It didn't endear itself to me maybe it's coz I prefer the usual fast-paced thrillers. but I must say Red is still an unforgettable novel. ... Hope to read more such cool buk reviews from you, regards ManuRead More

Hi Kuppakkaran, Informative review.... earlier I had MTV Citibank credit card which was good till I missed out on a few payments and my bill got huge. Finally I closed that account after spending over 2 years trying to pay the total amount off. now I wonder if I should opt for another card. ...I understand the credit card is very advantageous if one uses it wisely and don't miss even a single payment. I think the most popular credit card in India are those of ICICIs & also Standard Chartered. I heard a lot of criticism about collection agents of SC who used to harass those customers who missed out on payments. But now stringent laws are in place & hopefully such unfortunate incidents are on the decline. regards ManuRead More

Hi Shanti, aromatic review there.... I too think Bru & Nescafe are some of the best brands available here. others are also catching up but these two have their own ardent fans all over india. among tea, I prefer Kanan Devan. but truly, nothing I feel beats drinking a coffee early in t...he morning with a newspaper in hand and sitting lazily in the balcony! enjoy the brewing bru kaapi, madam.... regards ManuRead More

That wuz truly rib-tickling review but the situation is indeed a pity if that's what's regularly happening in a Apollo hospital. I've never been in one yet, be it Mumbai, bengalooru, hyderabadu, delhu or Chennu! lets hope the branches in other states are saving the brand name with or without the ...help of rats....wonder what Dr. Trehan who just defected to Apollo must be thinking about his new environs.... the last pointer was LOLz. the laughter truly drove my blues away :) regards ManuRead More

Vinod - I wonder if I should read his other best sellers like The White Castle or the Snow as he has a penchant for going too much into details that I find a bit tiring. But his stories, although intense, are very creative. He uses great imagination for sure.... regards Manu

I'm truly flattered by the ROD honor and by the flow of comments that swept into this review. Keep up your complimentz, friendz! :) Ava - I hope I get a ROD for Bartimaeus book too. it's been one of my fav buks I read so far among thrillers. I'ts entertaining and that's what matters for readers l...ike us who look for something fun 'n' relaxing. Paul - You'are always there to keep encouraging me & so many of the MSians in their writing. Kudos to u too for ur nearly 24-hr presence in cheering every other writer here :) hehe....now I hope some of your warm spirit also drives away the mosquitoes spoiling the fun mood in Kerala.... Sanjoy - I wonder if I'll ever read the Midnight's Children even if I turn 50. atleast I'll preserve it in good binding so that my future kidz & grand kidz may possibly have the better sense to read & enjoy it :). Talking about masterpieces, let us both join hands & sell our works. The proceeds will go to my funds so that I can bribe Faisal to push more of my reviews into RODs. whay say? Priyanka - I hope you enjoy the buk or else I'm sure you would love to have me by ur side so that u can whack me left, right, up, down or any other tangible direction u can think of for the hype I created :) Frankly, I recommend the usual run-of-the-mill suspense or action buks to anyone over a Orhan Pamuk because I myself don't relish serious stuff. Jaideep - wow....that's interesting news I never heard before. where did u get this tidbit? Orhan's writing felt definitely inspired. The way he narrates about painting to us makes me feel he must have be an accomplished painter too. What amazing description of paints & colors. It would be cool now if someone skilled make a movie on this too. Lyla - Thanks again for the honor. How do I make every review in my kitty get into that ROD platform? any clues? Should I bribe Faisal, his family, the MS staff in Mumbai or the 80,000+ members here? gosh, so much options everywhere but not a drop to use.... :Read More

I think you pretty much put all possible forward mail a person receives in his / her e-lifetime :) coool review. But wait!!! there's one more. the kind that comes usually from a certain African or European county stating that you've just become a free winner to their $100,000 lotto and try to c...on you with processing fees. you must have got such a mail, right? Or even this....'Hello, I'm the nephew Mr.xyx of the former DIG, Mr. xysxs of Zimbabwe. The government wants to imprion me....blah, blah...and I'm trying to leave the country...blah,blah. I need a safe account to store the $5,000,000 I have in my acct...can you help?....' These days, such mails have become extinct I think. But they were a regular in my yahoo inbox a year ago. the latest Week mag says that 76% of mails that originate from India are spam....sigh. regards ManuRead More

That wuz one roaring gud review.... My fav pair would be Shahrukh-Kajol anytime. my god, i stopped short of setting myself (my senses, I mean) on fire watching them make a marvellous comeback in KKKG. :) i don't see much hindi movies but I did enjoy Govinda-Karisma team. they've a fun chemistry a...nd even Shahid Kapur looks very good with Amrita Rao. a typical college going romantic pair.... the last four was hilarious....keep writing more such reviews. regards ManuRead More

I'm sure one devil will definitely enjoy the books of their brethren :-) just kidding....I hope you don't cast a furious spell on me now....you'll enjoy the buk, I'm sure. btw, I still wonder why you hesitate to put your actual pic in your profile, like me? I think we're entities from the Other s...ide who have the heart not to scare these earthlings with our real visuals. But don't they deserve better? :D regards ManuRead More

Thanks for the ur warm comments as usual. Ava - wow, cool to hear about your child like interest for such books irrespective of age. These fables are such immensely relaxing books. I completely agree, so many books worth reading but our time cries out....I'm going to summon a djinni to cast a spe...ll on my boss for atleast 5yrs while I catch up with these thrillers :) Priya - I never read any HP books so far but viewed the Sorceror's stone & The Order of the Phoenix. But I'm sure the books are better than the movie anytime. Will somebody gift the entire set of HP buks to me, puhleease? eh? :) Lyla - I'm sure anybody beyond 10yrs will be able to comprehend because the author does sprinkle some complex terms here & there in the buk. I'm sure your grandson will enjoy it. Go for it; let him be charmed by magic & ruthless devilry. hehe.... Shalini - did you realise I am a djinni Dessertaeus summoned by my master to hook innocent readers into a world of powerful magic & con them pounds of money? oops now why did I reveal it? I could have caused more betrayal....damn :) ya, u're right about time. there're so many wonderful, lesser known buks out there that deserves to be read. I still wonder why no one in MS didn't write on Bartimaeus books before. Mimi - it's alright. you can read this at midnight too. just be careful of that subtle breath blowing behind your cool neck :D kidding.... but tell you what....I was reading the sequel of this book the other day around 2am and in comes a innocuous sms from my friend ' hope you see devils in your dream....sweat dreams! '. Imagine my plight after getting that sms in midst of my reading. Sarav - yeah, it does remind us of the Gollum guy. btw, the LOTR movies were super, especially the Return of the King. I hope they make the Bartimaues trilogy into a thrilling screen version too. wish you a mystical, macabre & magical read.... :) regards ManuRead More
