Salim Sulaiman - SS - are changing the scene of Bollywood music. Anyway, the story asked for this kind of music. These two buddies are agile in jumping their fingers on their keyboards and remix softwares. Did I mention that they are excellent at it as well? A string of lyricists have been booked for this album. Sameer- you are spared in this one and please prepare for a retirement soon!
Jumping on the first track; the title track; Neal N Nikki ; is a light and zippy number. Youthful and cool, it’s the typical teenager and campus songs which will be a craze. SS use non-chaotic beats and Anvita Dutt Guptan flirts with catchy words like ‘hot and happening’ and ‘sweet and sexy’. Produced in the same factory with the same exact mould - The Salaam Namaste mould- this one innovates and is sexier! Vocals are by KK & Shweta Pandit. They both rock!!!
Notice the complete no-no (in the middle) to the classic ‘Tujhe Dekha’ from DDLJ and the catchy ‘I’m the Neal, I’m the Man, Rock Star, Super Star!’
How can you miss the Remix! Catchy, Captivating and Cute!!! Anyhow, Sulaiman and the others credited are already excellent at remixing. Here they construct the song based on electronic and pop-techno beats. These are common beats you hear in all these 24 remix albums releasing every week! A sure hit on the dance floors! Go for it! Title track is called N 'n' N – The Naughty Mix. Yeah it is getting naughtier all these remixes! Listen for more.
A fusion in a Yash Raj Movie! Yes you heard it right; Halla Re is mostly a floor number. Astonishing tabla beats together with the techno beats are mixed! Shweta Pandit does not pretend to sing but definitely rocks again here! I was expecting some Hema Sardesai or Sunidhi Chauhan to sing that one but hey, she doesn’t disappoint at all. Irshad Kamil penned the lines. Typical bollywood music and those Hinglish chorus captures attention. Let’s wait for a remix of this one and it will set fire to the dance floors! You are in the Yash Raj Music Camp with I’m In Love. There is no one better for the moment to sing this one than Sonu Nigam. Once again, cooked with the same mould of Tu Jahan (Salaam Namaste), this one has Mahalaxmi Iyer lending her vocals. Not that great compared to the other romantic tracks churned by past Yash Raj music directors. Listen to the Jatin-Lalit's tablas, the synthesizer’s touch of this duo and the electronic sounds. But there are too many Kal Ho Na Ho shades in this one. An okay time pass number but not impressive!
Kunal Ganjawala is back after Salaam Namaste. No need to say, with the foot tapping beats and Punjabi music, this one will surely make movie goers jump in the theatre. Kunal is fabulous! Warning to all his fans; it’s an addictive track! Music is stuck somewhere between acoustic and electricity, Salim Suleiman style and of course the Punjabi chorus! Javed Ali helps with the vocals. With another peppy background and with no complicated tune, the choreography of this one will make it a sure hit!
I Just Wanna Spend My Life With You is an entire English Track. Lovely lyrics and music makes it a sweet romantic track. I am still wondering how this one will be picturised. Clinton & Dominique Cerejo lend their vocals. Music is like Bee Gees, Take That and East 17 romantic numbers. A glimpse of the lyrics for romantic lovers:

Salim Sulaiman or Aditya Chopra chose a plethora of lyricists and selected singers to shape up the album. Sounds are trendy. The use of hip-hop beats characterises the majority of the compositions here. There was no need for additional DJs to add spice to this one. SS are enough! Shweta got most of the songs.
‘Nikki Bakshi, Sweet and Sexy, Hot and Happening!’ - it’s about this music! The lyrics are typical teenager conversations and some are just average but they fit the storyline. Just think of life as simple, take it easy and enjoy yourself with this youthful music. No need to over-listen or over-analyse. If you enjoyed Salaam Namaste’s music, then N3 is another one to look for!
