Judging from my username, it's obvious that the music of Fanna has made me go ga-ga over it. Jatin-Lalit are at their absolute best this time round and Prasoon Joshi's lyrics are a revelation. In fact, they sound almost as poetic as something penned down by Javed Akhtar. Considering the fact, that this music and everything related to it has been so hyped up, obviously expectations were huge from the soundtrack. And, it definitely lives up to it, in every department!

1. Chand Sifarish

The first song of the soundtrack and the best. We've heard snippets of it (Kailash Kher's high-pitched Subhan Allah) and truly, this song is captivating. Shaan is extraordinary in this song. He sings the melody with absolute ease and the lilt in his voice truly adds a little extra something. Kailash Kher's ''Subhaan Allah'' is enchanting. Prasoon Joshi's lyrics are not just words, it's sheer poetry.

''Teri adaa bhi hai jhoken waali, chuke guzar jaane de

Teri lachak bhi ha jaise daali, dil mein utar jaane de''

The song has a lilting melody and a catchy beat to go with it. At times, the song even sounds naughty, but does so innocently and romantically, that it makes it a masterpiece. One of Jatin-Lalit's best compositions. And definitely a chartbuster.

2. Mere Haath Mein

This song has en ethereal feel to it from the second it starts. It exudes mystery and dreaminess. Something you would just love to lie down and listen quietly. Sonu Nigam: this man is pure genius! His voice is unmatchably soothing. Sunidhi Chauhan isn't any less. She's added a very sweet touch to the song and the ''ethereal feel'' credit goes to her as much as it does to Sonu, Jatin-Lalit and Prasoon.

''Jitne paas hai khushboo saaz ke, jitne paas hoton ke sargam

Jaise saath hai karvat yaad ke, jaise saath bahon ke sangam''

Prasoon Joshi's lyrics (as you can tell from the two lines above) are really mesmerizing. Kajol and Aamir lend their voices to this song (for dialogues not singing) and it just makes the song even better.

3. Destroyed in Love

This one's for all the music buffs out there. A very melodious and musical instrumental that has all the tunes of basically all the songs in the soundtrack. Wonderful instruments and the track makes you want to sway along with it. Another great one to lie down and listen.

4. Chanda Chamke

Now this one's got to be one of my favorites. Just listening to it makes you want to get up and dance. The lyrics are by far, the best part of this song. Those tongue-twisters are hilarious to listen to. Once again, Kajol and Aamir join in the song to give a shot at the tongue twisters. Mahalaxmi, Babul Supriyo and Master Akshay Bhagwat seem to have mastered the tongue twisters and sing them with full conviction. You simply HAVE to listen to this one. Extremely enjoyable listening.

5. Dekho Na

The song starts with the sound of rain pouring. Extremely romantic song sung by SOnu Nigam and Sunidhi Chauhan. Sunidhi is truly AMAZING in this song! Sonu is once again, at his best. The lyrics, or should I saw poetry again, are beautiful. Listening to this song makes one imagine snow-capped mountains, green grass and flying sarees. It's that romantic. Prasoon Joshi personifies the wind and the weather through his lyrics and that's what makes this song such a delight to listen to. Jatin-Lalit have truly showed your true potential through this song.

6. Des Rangila

An upbeat song. The only problem with it is that it doesn't go with the mood of the rest of the album. But it's worth a ear. At least, it's not one of those songs that you absolutely have to skip when it starts playing. In fact, it grows on you the more you listen. Mahalaxmi has done full justice to the song. This singer is going to go far, thanks to the pure sweetness in her voice. Give the song a chance and I'm sure you'll like it.

7. Fanaa for you

Ah, no album is complete without a remix is it? Generally, I don't appreciate remixes. But this remix is definitely worth listening to. Very nice beats and thankfully, the beats don't affect, or rather, ruin, the melody. The original is definitely better but the remix is a pleasant number to listen to as well. Would probably get the same rating as ''Des Rangila''. I think it's the lyrics of Prasoon Joshi, and the melody from the original song that saves this remix from sounding like the rest.

Overall, this soundtrack would get a rating of 4.5/5 The best would have to be Chand Sifarish, Chanda Chamke, Mere Haath Mein, Destroyed in Love and Dekho Na. However, the remaining songs aren't bad at all. The only reason they can be termed ''mediocre'' is because the other songs are so fantastically good. Otherwise, they're good songs.

Album is definitely worth buying
