Love will find a way

Mitwa(Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna)

‘Love will find a way…’  This song definitely found its way in my heart. It starts with soft notes that build up into a crescendo – so similar to the initial feelings of attraction that you feel like brushing off but they refuse to disappear till they descend on your soul in the form of full fledged love. Mitwa is like a soft knock on your door and yet. it makes your senses come alive.

Roobaroo(Rang de basanti)

First time I heard it, I imagined a free soul on a bike, riding into a golden sunset, singing this song – in a celebration of being alive, being free. This song celebrates life – life that ebbs away and life that gets lighted up again, in a burst of flame. I was moved by the way it was presented in the movie. It appeared at a time when the emotions were heightened to the extent of being almost raw. It touches you… like none other.

Ye honsla(Dor)

And to think that I had not heard this song till I watched this movie! This one is the most inspirational number of the recent times. Beautifully sung, wonderfully envisioned and perfectly picturized, it is like a miracle. The chant in the background of this song builds up the feeling of incessant determination that this song symbolizes. Listen to this song when you are feeling rather blue – it will comfort your soul.

O Saathi re(Omkara)

Omkara had to figure in my list and I was wondering which song gets the honors. Both ’Naina thag lenge’ and ’O saathi re’ left me spellbound – but it was the sheer beauty of emotions in ‘O saathi re’ that won the race. I can’t help it but the picturization of the songs do bias me somewhat and talking of that, do you remember the way this song unfolds on the screen? Remember the way Omkara runs and his sweetheart, Dolly chases him during a mock fight against the backdrop of green fields… somehow you get the feeling that this is a precious moment which will be remembered after everything had ceased to exist… when all happiness, all joy has gone from life.

Rang de basanti(Rang de basanti)

This song took me a while to really start liking it – it’s not the kind of a song that one would love right after the first hearing. But hear it a few times and you may just get hooked to the force of Daler Mehndi’s powerful vocals. It has a kind of a raw energy that grabs you and shakes you up really well before letting you go.

Dhoom again(Dhoom again)

Mr. A strikes again! ‘Dhoom again’ is like Mr. A’s signature – rich on style and gloss, mercurial and enchanting. The beats are uplifting and exhilarating and the lyrics are perfect for the style that this song oozes. And the picturization is well… amazing! Can Hrithik Roshan d-a-n-c-e!

Ab ke janam mohe bitiya(Umraao jaan)

This is the only Umraao Jaan number to have figured in my list. What a disappointment that is – because so much was expected out of this music album before its release. However, this song stands out among the rest because of Richa Sharma’s perfect rendition. The pain of being a female child comes across poignantly through beautiful https://lyrics. It may bring tears to your eyes – it’s that lovely.

Chand sifarish(Fanaa)

‘Chand sifarsih’ is so sweetly flirtatious that it makes you smile. The whistling throughout the song sets the mood for courtship and red roses. The lyrics are as fresh as dew drops and the infectious beats make you want to sing along with the cute Aamir Khan as he serenades his lady with the lovely smile.

Tu bin bataye(Rang de basanti)

Close your eyes… there is no other way to completely feel the emotions that spill over when you listen to this song. The only really soft and romantic number in ‘Rang de basanti’, this song is intensely dreamy but definitely not frivolous. Not surprisingly, the picturization has a very dream like quality to it, with a haze of stardust around it.

Kabul Fiza(Kabul fiza)

Listening to this song is like taking a trip into an unknown, mysterious land – full of promise, full of intrigue. ‘Kabul Fiza’ is a song about a journey and an awakening. It starts off on a soft note, builds up a faster pace and then slows down again… like a realization, an understanding and then a resignation to a moment.
