Good review. I am an FF on EK but recently I heard that the service really degraded. My wife was complaining about the lousy service she got this time around. I have travelled on 3 sectors with them and had no much issues. But sometimes the toilets get clogged and the staff do nothing more than tape... up the door with an OUT of SERVICE board. But don't let this discourage you. You have to fight hard if you want your money back. Register a case with BBB and see if you can get a response. I had a similar issue with US Airways: Guy charged me extra for bags when Emirates would carry it for free. They also made me throw away stuff to reduce weight to 23kgs when I was allowed 32kgs. I was turned down by them several times but was persistent and I got the extra money charged by USAirways refunded. But yes, its a lot of mental agony and sometimes you wonder if $100 is worth it. And now they are asking me to contact Emirates for a refund on the weight I was asked to lose by the ignorant platypus at the US Airways check-in counter. Sue them in a consumer court. Emirates had to provide you with accommodation. US Airways provided me with accommodation and food vouchers in LA when their flight was delayed and I missed my onward international connection. As Anshuman said..go after their life. In these days of email things are a lot fasterRead More

Aren't we reviewing products / services based on our experiences. This article is nothing more than view points, perhaps a blog or some other techforum is more suited. You dont need technology to use this iphone like a normal cell phone. But then you don't need to buy an expensive phone. But if you... intend to harness the full power you need to understand its capabilities and how to harness the same. Which is true of all smart phones or even your average phone that can play mp3 or 3GPRead More

Very good review. I was about to write my own but then saw that it has a good fan following here. And your line 'The phone still appears new unlike my earlier smart phones which had become shabby over a years use' really caught my eye. I have been using this for over 2 years and have never felt the ...necessity to upgrade! Never owned a phone for so long. And my friend who touted his N95 when I got my iPhone has in the same period moved to a DROID and an iPhone for his wife. @RAHUL: Sorry, better late than never. 8GB is quite sufficient. I use the iPhone the way its meant to be and have quite a lot of music and movies loaded as well. You manage your data sync with iTunes and manage your space. BTW, I am on 16Gigs Battery life, is good but if you use graphic intensive apps such as the ifighter or Google Maps, it drains you out pretty fast. Its good to invest in a car charger or any other portable charging. I ended up buying the iPod Connector for my factory CRV radio but its total peace. Listen to music on the car system and charge your phone while the GPS helps you navigate.Read More

Hi Shriram, I am not anti-west. Gerber an alternate ..never. Even westerners realise that; much like them trying to follow Eastern Culture. There are plenty of US parenting sites where you can watch the forums and see the changing trend wherein moms prepare food. In this part of the world for most ...kids this is not an alternate. It is the staple food. Do we do always what kids want to? They hardly know what is best for them and are attracted to color/taste easily. And these companies know to take advantage of easily with their research. Why do so many of us like soda like Pepsi/Coke or fast food...Cos we are genetically wired for sugar and fat. I was with my kids dentist yesterday and he tells me he had to do GA with Root Canal for a 7 year old on almost all her teeth..Reason...fast food/soda diet. Its more convenient here since even lunches come pre-packed from a factory. I am not against your experiences or choice either. Just that I was surprised that no one has spoken of the dangers involved. When my kid was small we were particular that there would be no farex, no pediasure and no mixie food either. I was against it as it was inconvenient and my wife was totally made up. But boy, are we glad today, looking at her. And a word about using it sparingly. Thats just the foot in the door these companies need. Read More

You are absolutely right. These are synthetic chicken..chicken that are bred only for production, fed a diet of corn and antibiotics and hormones so that they grow double the size in half the time. I used to enjoy especially the double burgers and that was the first thing I had after a day long hike in the grand canyon. Tastes good, cheap and filling. Top it with a soda (coke) and burp.Perhaps in a way ignorance is bliss. You get to enjoy but then with knowledge comes inquisitiveness.I hav...Read more

Its pathetic to see that the west realizes the dangers of such mass produced and processed food while we Indians are showing pride in adopting it. Everybody likes convenience, but have you thought of the long term effects? Parenting is not an easy thing and we should ensure that they get nutritious ...stuff. I am sure many of us are proud of having Godrej chicken and McDonalds. Perhaps a viewing of Food Inc will change the view points or SuperSize me. Its all about making the right choices for our children and not about the convenience. And I am really apalled when I see my friends using such convenience items.Read More

Other than the pungent smell, I really fail to understand how this thing will work miracles for all ailments. From pimples to curing stretch marks! I think those two work in opposite directions. As for pains, I don't think no medicine can cure a pain and provide only temporary relief. If it really n...eeds to be addressed a proper exercise routine is also required. Yet to see if this has really worked the wonders for anyone. Did a lot of searches and no other information than the published info from the company. No record of a third party vouching for it effectiveness.Read More

I agree with this. They are simply out to fleece the customers by unfair means. I was pestered to open an NRI account and given ZERO balance benefits by virtue of being employed with XYZ company. To my surprise I was slapped with QAB charges and when enquired I got a response that is entangled in it...self. The QAB requirements are different in different lines of the same response. And he was happy to have me close my account so that he could charge me the closing fees too...Dont waste your time with this bank. The internet banking really sucks. You cant bank without your debit card and mobile in hand! The phone banking takes ages to be answered. And yes I did not get any notifications either by email or post Read More

Yup. its that good. I haven't thought about the lenses yet as I might do an upgrade to the SLR. One thing I definitely need is a backup battery. Currently my backup is my Sony w810i:)

Yep, I would agree with you. I recently tried to open an account and they ask for simply too much documentation. Email/FAX is not acceptable as they are not secured! LOL...this means many corporations in Silicon Valley are dumb. Perhaps they do not understand that a photocopy can be faked and still ...sent which they would consider as acceptable proof. And the other reason they put my application on hold was for Signature on passport does not match...Jees how can a signature be the same in 10 years...I guess I should ask them to write the same they did when in Jr School. Finally i just decided that this is not the bank. Imagine if there is so much red tape now, what would they be applying once my money is in there and they decide that things do not match. And their online banking sucks! So slow and cumbersome. Banking at the branch is a bigger pain. Try getting something done at BLR MG Road on a Saturday. I am stuck to two now..SBI and Citi.Read More

I never even allow them(Bimal folks) within 2ft of my car! I am happy with UM Cars. Recently my friend bought a new swift from bimal. I ensured that he went to UM for service! But don't leave these f****ers....Move the court, move the law..they need to be shoved else they will take more people for... granted. I just stopped cos that was easier as my job is not to visit the workshop just cos I have a car..If I show my entry slips to the consumer court, bimal will wince in pain!Read More

Maybe the swiping machine is not registered as a gas filling station. Initially when I used to tank up at Shell (read as RK Enterprises) I was also not charged. Later I started getting my fuel surcharges included. So now I do an eenie meenie mynie mo before selecting the card to swipe. Unless there... is a special offer for you from Citi, try swiping the card for fuel at any other station. Go to trinity circle IOC. They have an HSBC terminal too. Swipe on it. Or read the *Conditions Apply on the offer. *OOPs need to make a correction I never said that you do not get points. You always get the points when you swipe. But when you swipe at outlets other than IOC and/or non Citi terminals you get the fuel surchage. Points they give you anyways.Read More
