Just back from the screening. It would be injustice if I wait for MS to add the movie to the list. I hate this part of MS..You can comment only on what they want...Anyways, I'll log it here under the lead character..
Mohanlal, you love him or hate him, but is simply fantastic...The way he slips into Major Mahadevan, playing his age. Last time I was bowled over was in Vanaprastham!
The movie is a great one. Dont miss it. I hear there is a tamil version too. Kudos to Major Ravi on his first venture. I guess he has created a great movie. We see a lot of reality stuff about Mumbai cops or Bihari babus, but here is one for the India soldier from a soldier.
The movie definitely has scope for more than Tamil/Malayalam. I wish it was made in Hindi, so that we could have had a broader appeal and also take it to the whole of the country. It would have seen a lot of technical improvements too. I am not saying that they have done a shabby job, its a damn good job for a mallu movie. But somewhere it lacks a bit of technical finesse. I would have loved to see the RDB team in action here.
Jeeva too rocks in the movie. So you have a bit of tamil too thrown in and given the location, you cannot help without Hindi and I guess a bit of Pushtu.
Warning though..there is a pointless violent sex scene which he tried to build more hatred towards the terrorists but it did not really click. It can be quite discomforting if you are with children (bloody thing goes on for a while).
Also the censor board did not cut any Behen C's and Mather C's. Maybe they did not understand hindi.
Hear that its been a few kokas on this movie with real soldier, locations etc. So dont miss it.
