i must declare this first that i am an ardent fan of aamir....(i would like the aamir fans to read my reviews on this site) but i like people to review him without comparing him to anybody.......his work speaks for himself. why should we mention any other actor while appreciating aamir's chievements... and give others the chance to get involved and call him bad names?...any way.......good effort saurabh..!Read More

hi ANIA1,....thanx for the comment...as you have seen the only movie 'fanna'.....my review of aamir's songs and movies does make less sense to you.....still you have made it a point and given a comment.......so thanx once again.....i can understand how depriving and inadequate you might be feeling b...y not being able to understand what you liked the most only beause of the language barrier....subtitles are the only saviour....i have got a few aamirian friends all over the world who just love aamir and make it a point to see all his movies and try to understand them as much as possible.....they also don't know hindi.......i hope you see his other movies too.....wish you all the best..........archanaRead More

hey purnesh,............yr review makes good reading.........i had no intention to see the movies 'sawaria'..............as i don't like sanjay bhansali's movies..........as most of the times, he seems to be quite unrealistic in the treatment of the subject...........he goes overboard in his imagina...tion..........and i don't like to see the movies for the sets and cinematography alone.........of course, i have no disrespect for his fans...........still, after reading yr review, i feel like taking chance with sawariya........and thanx for the reply to my mail abt aamir's blog...........archanaRead More

It is good review. I was flabbergasted by the number of comments your review received, 80.....uh!!
My most fav of the album is Dekho na. Sonu and Sunidhi are at their best. The one thing I would like to add to the review of Mere Haath me, is the alaap of 'Ya Moula...aa...a' It... lingers with you even after the song. It is used in the whole movie very effectively and it touches your heart, whenever you hear it, your heart almost bleeds, at least I experieced that way.
Any way, congrats on receiving so many comments. I envy you.

Fanna has got lots of brick bats than the accolades. When it is a romantic story, I see for sheer romance (overlooking a few flaws in the movie) and it simply overflows in the whole movie. I am floored by the chemistry between Aamir and Kajol. The music is sweet and melodious. You feel like seen...ing it again for the magical pair, and there lies the success of the movie

Good Review. I am a huge Aamir fan and I would have liked to add many more to yr list, but it is only 'Five Best Movies'.
Anyway, I want to draw yr attention to a very different point. i.e. In yr review sometimes you have spelt Aamir's name as Amir. Actually the names have two different meanin...gs. Amir means 'rich' and Aamir means 'a flag-bearer', which sure he is for Inidan Film industry.
Related story: His father has named him Aamir purposefully. ( Remember Papa kahete hai bada naam karega? .......... sach-mooch bada naam kiya. Agree?) I read about this name tid-bits in Aamir's biography published by Rupa Publishers.

In yr Fanna Review, you have described its music as just passable with the exception of 'subhan allah', and just after 6 months one other song from the same movie i.e. 'tere haatha me' reminds you of the musical prowess that was of Jatin Lalit? Quite a change of heart, na?

Dear Salman,
I am a proud Aamir fan, just like you. Whenever any body praises Aamir, I really feel very happy. He deserves not the brick-bats,( which he gets most of the times, and that too for his honesty of expression, for which he actually deserves accolades) but the accolades.
It hurts ...when he is sidelined while the media goes ga ga over all other big stars. Of course, Aamir is least affected by the sidelining (at least, it seems so). I some times wonder how he remains so cool.
I take a chance here to wish him more and more success and goodwill along with all the other Aamir fans.

Lovely review. Hats off to the clarity of thought, balanced outlook, and healthy mind-set. I was fed up of all the hatred people demonstrated after Aamir spoke his mind. One might not agree with what he said, but he had every right to say what he wanted.
The political party...s were there to politicize the issue for their own good.
I don't think there were any communal undertones to his statement.
It was good to see that he stood by his words, even when he was pushed to the wall by the doings of the particular political party.
I appreciate yr views and would like to mention that your's is a flawless language, which is rarity on the net.

May I add one unforgetable scene? When Jay and Siddhu meet on the ' watherfront' just before Jay's death. Jay wants his brother Siddhu to fall in line with villain, on the other hand Siddhu, who is determined to fight the villain, wants Jay to join him in that fight. The brotherly love, anguish an...d pain all touches your heart. It is a fabulous scene enacted superbly by both able actors.

SUPERB!!! You have got both style and substance. A very perfect and all-round view of the ad.
Being a die-hard fan of Aamir, I love almost all his work. He is different from all the other superstars. Being so dedicated to his work, every project he undertakes is his labour of lo...ve. His involvement shows, be it a movie or an ad. Almost all his cola ads, titan ads, and innova ads are good.
By the way, Toyota Innova just celebrated sale 1,500 cars last year and thus have created history in that segment. I have also read that Toyota and Coca Cola are the two of the top ten companies in the world. Aamir associates himself always with the best.Read More

dear rajeev,
a beautiful review. there are many beautiful moments in the movie. Aamir and Kajol have lived those moments. They are the best pair facing each other and complimented each other completely. irrespective of the idiosyncracies of the plot, the love story enamours you, and you fall ...in love with the lead pair. the dialogues, the songs, camera work, locations, the small small situations created by the director are enchanting. I loved the movie and yr review too.
