1)  **Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar(1992)

*Brilliant movie! Aamir as a carefree guy from a poor school, against Deepak Tijori's rich school. Unknown to Aamir, Ayesha Jhulka has a huge crush on him, whilst Aamir falls in love with Pooja Bedi. Watch how things unravel in this compelling story. Contains great drama, comedy, romance and a bit of violence. The songs "Rooth ke hum se kabhi" and "Pehla Nasha" are simply outstanding! In my opinion the best movies of the 90s

*2)   Ghulam(1998)

*Powerful movie. Aamir is the tapori gangster dude who is learning about the big bad world of crime.  Really captivating plot. Superb "dus dus ki daud" where Aamir runs towards  a train and jumps off at the last moment!(He risked his life). Also the fight scene at the end where Aamir fights Sharat Saxena who punches him to the ground  and he gets up with blood over his face, staring directly at the villian is superb!

*3) Lagaan(2001)

*Marvellous! Shows the lives of Indian farmers in the late nineteenth century under the British Raj. Aamir is an ambitious and courageous fighter who accepts the challenge of the British officers to play a Cricket match over which will depend whether or not the villagers need to pay Lagaan( tax). Watch Aamir's courage and breathtaking Cricket scenes!

*4) Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak(1988)

*Aamir and Juhi's best ever film! With strong rivalry between their parents, both lovers try and listen to their parents, but their undying love for each other does not abate. They elope and seem to enjoy happy times, yet both Juhi's dad's hitman kills Juhi. Aamir is distrought! He instantly kills the hitman and draws out a dagger given to him by Juhi and stabs himself. Very poetic moment as Aamir smiles as he leans down to kiss Juhi on the cheek before he finally collapses infront of the sunset, ( a phenonemon which Aamir said would bring them together forever - quite ironic, yet fitting). Music is to die for "Papa kehte hain" " Ae mere humsufur" and "Akele hain to ky ghum hai"

*5) Akele Hum Akele Tum(1995)

Surprisingly - a box failure, yet nobody can doubt Aamir's performance of a struggling musician who musician who cannot give his son the quality of life he promised, whilst his wife Manisha is a bollywood superstar( in the movie). Brilliant acting by Aamir, shows real emotion and the crying scene at the end where Aamir is just about to lose his son to his wife is really poignant. Ultimately both Aamir and Manisha settel their differences and live to start a new life. Songs are superb "Raja ko rani se pyar ho gaya" " akele hum akele tum" and  "dil mera churaya kyon"

Overall in my opinion, Aamir is the actor who does not  care about how much money he can earn. Unlike SRK and Salman who give masala movies, Aamir gives movies which educate the people and really capture their imagination. His new movie Taare Zameen Paris a must see movie. Really emotional and heartwarming scenes in it. See what you think!
