Some Quickies ;-)

# Jatin Lalit’s last musical score together, they part their ways after this.

# For the review I call Jatin Lalit, JLit from now on.

# It’s the SS factor that works in this album. Sonu & Sunidhi have done the bulk of singing.

# Aamir & Kajol both sing some lines. Sunidhi Chauhan isn’t singing any items and quick nos. for a change.

Music by : Jatin Lalit aka JLit

Lyrics by : Prasoon Joshi

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
JLit are known for their melody. Here they experiment a bit. No Udit Narayan for a change plus no Alka Yagnik as well. New sound of melody but overall essence remains intact & barring a mediocre track rest all are just the songs that one would love to listen too. Let’s begin.
Let us drop the weakest link of this album first.
Des Mera Rangeela
Mahalakshmi
This is a mediocre song. From the patriotic perspective I thought JLit could have done something different on this but unfortunately the song turns routine and mundane. Lyrically it’s just ok; I feel more of a situational filler song and might be filmed on Kajol by the looks of it. It combines sounds from different regions of the country to portray different colors of the country. There is everything stereotypical with this dholaks, trumpets etc which you might have heard in various other songs portraying colorful India. Listen it once and then watch it 2nd on screen else no. Only thing new is Mahalakshmi who sings it aptly else these songs are Alka Yagnik’s forte. The song eventually ends with Jana Gana Mana tune which is too little too late for it.
The song gets 2/5 for it being clichéd.
Things get better from now on.
Chanda Chamke
Babul Supriyo, Mahalaxmi, Akshay Bhagwat, Aamir and Kajol
Umm! Did you happen to hear Yaara Yaara mein to from Hum Tum which happen to have music from JLit too. Well the tune and set up of this song is exactly the same but what scores here are lyrics which is just funny and even funnier to repeat the funny tongue twisters. Go for it for the twistingly twisted tongue twisters to twist you more. Figure this
“Chanda Chamke Cham Cham, Chikhe Chokkana Chor”
“Pake ped par pakka papita, pakka ped ya pakka papita, pakke ped ko pakde pinku pinku pakde pakka papita”
Funny! Gets 4/5 from me.
& better.
Dekho Naa
Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan
The way they sing “Dekho naa” will be with you as soon as you finish with it. The emphasis is on lyrics and the nature of the song makes it quintessential to have Sonu Nigam in it but the real surprise comes in form of Sunidhi Chauhan and amazingly she does live up to it. It is then I realize that Sunidhi is indeed singing more songs in this album. Starts off with santoor & followed up with normal melodious track on the synthesizer. A love song where in lovers realizes the importance of nature and way they feel the vibes about each other in it (It’s nice to be in love: P). Overall the song is a slow horse and would eventually would build on with more hearings. Dekho naa sticks in mind and you tend to sing it as you hear it along.
Gets 4/5 from me as I thought JLit have a very good thing in them to be melodious.
& even better.
Mere Haath mein
Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Aamir & Kajol
The aces of this album start with this song. If you have seen the promo which features Kajol’s dialogue ''Tere Dil Mein Meri Sanson Ko Panaah Mil Jaaye...Tere Ishq Mein Meri Jaan Fanaa Ho Jaaye'' is a part of this. An alaap followed Kashmiri start to it. Lyrics are a focal point of this song and actually very well penned. A haunting start which turns serene as soon as Sonu starts singing, Sunidhi probably for the first time is getting fair share of an album does well but still it’s Sonu who just mesmerizes. Instrumentation is apt for a song which surely makes you listen it again. I think this would rock once the visuals are out.
This gets 5/5 :)
Destroyed in Love- Lounge Instrumental
Dhrubajyoti Phukan
This is based mainly on the song Mere Haath mein plus some others from the same album. This amazingly impresses coz I listened to it just after the original and also for the fact me not being too keen on lounge music. I would recommend you to do the same and sure you would find flavor. It starts off with different tunes and then gets consistent with a techno beat halted by a Flute sound which just intrigues more. Advice is to close your eyes; relax on a couch and turn this on. It will turn you on ;-)
This gets 5/5 again.
In comes the new melody, melodious and fresh.
Chand Sifarish
Shaan, Kailash Kher
The promo has excited us. Now comes the full song and it just rocks and remains with you for more. Shaan does an excellent job to sing a flagship song of the album and converts extremely well, Kailash Kher is there for “Subhan Alla”, that’s it but actually does enough to lift the tempo of this song further. Tabla, Dholak and Bass Guitar continue in tandem. I must say after this song I felt Shaan has just excelled singing this. Considering the importance of this song I felt it just lives up to the excitement caused by the promos. Too good!
This gets 6/5 :)
Fanaa For you- Chand Sifarish
Remix by DJ Aqeel
This song as right put by my fellow reviewer isn’t in sync with overall album, but I would say no matter it was commercial to add a remix to the album but it surely works for me. DJ Aqeel has kept the song as it is without really turning it upside down and that’s what works for this. If you happen to listen to original and follow it up with this; I think you would like it. I did.
This gets 4.5/5 :)
Overall the album has all the plusses and surely would catch the flavor with melody listeners.
Cticize’s Quote :: “I am not a big JLit fan but their music has been good and after their recent failures they have done well in this but unfortunately its last time we see them together. The songs are not too long and fit well in listener’s frame. Go play.”
