for the analysis & valuable feedback. But that wont prevent me from hating this movie. Yes, maybe I am prejudiced against the actors and 'lighthearted contemporary entertainers'. Maybe I think Preity Zinta is nothing more than a glamour doll and because she cud atleast speak out her dialogs with s...ome clarity in this movie she got the appreciation (more of an encouragement methinks... yeah baby... you are damn cute..and you dont act that bad) I strongly feel that success of Shahrukh khan & these kinda movie is a misfortune of bollywood and sooner or later everyone's gonna realize that. is not for the masses. Ambiguity and abstractness are the salient features of this genre. In the end friends does it really matter..?? Every institute has some screening parameters and so has IMT... but I found the allegations to be over exaggerated... I am an IMT passout and believe me I come from the most humble background... No one in my whole family tree has ever even been close to a... politician... and so is the case with most of my batchmates... I do admit IMT has some reserved seats for NRI students which are used for the advantage of politicians & businessmen but that should not discourage someone from trying to get into this beautiful academic experience... IMT to me is a true reflection of the society as of today .. Purely capitalist... and capitalism has its own evil ways... My friends, roommates have given me a fairly heavy dose of that song sometimes 10 times a day.. cant take it anymore.. (though i must confess I was blown off first time I hrd it.. ...remained a fav. for a long time) Hotel cal .. you are damn right.. that song should be banned..Everywhere you go nightclubs, pubs restaurants even movie theaters you have the eagles crooning and people banging their heads to it with their eyes closed in deep meditation and their faces twisting and turning in ecstasy. Extremely well written review. I fully believe you that this movie is as abstract as Fida saheb's paintings. My favourite question these days to my friends is 'Which is the third city in Menaaxi - A Tale of three cities ?. Pat comes the retort - 'Which are the first two ..??. ' Cyberabad... and Jaisalmer ..' Now can you tell me the third.? 'Well, Mumbai ? or Kolkata ..? .. no no chennai..' 'Lol the poor fella cant think beyond india '. Its human tendency to rate anything abstract as artistic. If i cant make head or tails of something it must be artistic. Extremely funny. Feel like reading it again and again. have hrd most of the numbers and good to know i am not the only one. These are the songs one just cant avoid specially if you travel in autorickshwas or your barber is fond of bollywood music or your roommate is fond of watching ETC channel. On...e more song that comes to my mind is from the kamal hassan - manisha koirala flick. The lyrics goes like this 'Telephone dhun mein hansne waali. melbourne machli machalne waali, Digit mein sur hai tarasha , madonna hai ya natasha , Zakir hussain tabla tu hai kya ??'.
