This album has to be the most under rated album of all time. This album is of the time when the band were at its creative peak. This album truly depicts why Led Zep is the best band ever to have graced this planet. It shows their versatality and their use of many instruments. Many led zep fans dont like this song as they experimented a lot, and this album did'nt have the standout solos. But I consider it the best Led Zep Album after Physical Grafitti . After this album I would rate Led Zep II, then IV, then I, then III. This album slightly moved away from their normal style. The songs are just fantastic. Read on ....

1) The Song remains the same : This is a superb song with super guitar riff's. This song shows why this band worked. Like all their songs, the way all the members contribute and mix well is shown here. Plant's vocals are superb with the trademark song remains the same guitar riff by page. Superb song . This is how an album has to be opened .

2) The Rain Song : This is a superb ballad. Only led zep can come up with wonderful orchestrations. The middle part of the song take it to the next level. This song is one I would play on a romantic evening. One of my favourite led zep ballads!

3) Over the hills and Far Away : This is a mass appealing song of led zep. This is song you want to listen on your headphones and start dancing like crazy. This is a very good song

4) The Crunge : I would put it this way. This is the not the best song of the album . This is a song which is what it is ...... an experiment.

5) Dancing Days : This song is another classic. The drum work by Bonham is amazing here. The vocals are strong too. This song somehow feels like a precursor to the Soundgarden/ Nirvana/ Pearl Jam type of seattle rock .

6) D'yer Maker : This is an experiment which really works. You know what led zep rocks at reggae too !! . This is a great song which just shows the versatility of the band, with good vocals again.

7) No Quarter : This is one of the best led zep songs ever . This song is John Paul Jones standout piece. This song seems to be inspired again by LOTR. This is a song which would be termed as progressive rock. This is a rock song where the synthesiser really rocks !!! This is the standout piece of the album

8) The Ocean : This song is hard pounding rock. Just to remind the world that they are the best at it. This song has a really nice hard feel to it. This is a song which is really uplifting and upbeat.

This song caps a magical journey called The Houses of the holy. This is an album, not many have heard, but I would suggest should be heard. No Led Zep collection is complete without this album. The atmosphere and mood created in this album is breathtaking, and the composing geniusthe Underrated John Paul Jones is brought to the fore. To come up with this album after Zoso (Untitled) is truly marvellous.
