Though I am very new to this form of music I could not resist sharing with you my point of view about hip-hop. I was introduced to hip-hop in goa at a famous nightclub. It struck an instant chord as I found it extremely fresh and contemporary. Usually I am against any form of music that is not rock n roll but then to be very frank I was a lil bored and wanted a fresh gust of air to come through my window and hip-hop did the job. With a very sparse knowledge of the subject I would start the countdown now -:
1. Nelly Feat. City Spud - Ride With Me.
I like the rythm guitars in the intro and the melodious r&b tune of the song.
2. Eminem - Real Slim Shady
The hip-hop god is simply amazing in this song.'Will the real slim shady. please stand up?'
3. Eve feat. Gwen Stefani - Let Me Blow ya Mind
This song features gwen stefani of the'no doubt' fame. The beat, the bassssline is out of the world.
4. 50 Cents - In Da Club
Superb build-up. I will call it progressive rap.
5. Sean Paul - Get Busy
Ska. Very groovy.
6. Jayz - Hard Knock Life
Awesome chorus and groovy beat.
7. 2Pac Shakur - California Love
Excellent rapping done by tupac with a feel of techno and club.
8. Outkast - Ms. Jackson
R&B to the core. Melodious chorus and steady tempo.
9. Crazy Town - Butterfly
Inspired by linkin park, POD, Limp Bizkit etal.
10. Snoop Doggy Dog - Who am i? Whats my name?
Boy this dog barks.
I will take the liberty of adding three more kicka** numbers to this list .
11. DMX - Party up
Powerful vocals.
12. Eminem - Sing for the moment
Eminem Again? well he is class apart and so is the song.
13. D-12 - Purple Hills
Purple hills or pills?
What do you think?
