Stewart Elliott did not show any emotion. For him, it was just another race. It did not matter if a crowd of 140,000 had filed in at the racecourse from all over the country. It did not matter if an entire nation was going to watch the race live on television—it did not matter if the ra...Read more

T as Reliance to Reliance only as the company would like us to believe NOW. In any case, if Reliance has used a word like STD that carries a specific meaning in public vocabulary, without using an asterisk (*) specifying the rider in its ad campaign, the word means and continues to mean the same and... Reliance has NO RIGHT to define it.) And then there are many other points which, I am positive, will go against the company should such a case come up against them. THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE HAD SEVERE HEARTBURNS BY BECOMING RELIANCE SUBSCRIBERS AND FEEL BEING CHEATED BY THE COMPANY ARE WELCOME TO JOIN HANDS WITH ME IN THIS EFFORT. You may M2M me to writing your feelings and frustrations. Regards, ~TiMRead More

Am not rating this review coz you r actually putting on a request for info, not a review. Anyways, I too have this piece, and I think it's a swell instrument. The best I have ever used, and believe me I have used some top of the line handsets of the GSM category. LG sure has done its job well... in manufacturing the equipment, although the same cannot be said about Reliance. Mr Mukesh Ambani has perhaps undone in 25 days what it took his father 25 years to build up. I suppose many years down the line if there is a discussion about the worst launch of the 21st century, Reliance IndiaMobile will serve as a most representative case study for the students of marketing. Coming back to the handset, there seems to be only one flaw, and it's quite major. It is this: The handset timer starts even before the calling party picks up the phone. So you are likely to be charged extra. Worse, if you call up and get no reply, the timer still logs the time between the moment you press 'call' button and the 'end' button. So if you call up an outstation number, and there is no reply, you might end up being billed for a call that never went through in the first place. The dumb and disgusting Reliance customer care staff that I interacted with came out with this gem when I queried them about the genuineness and accuaracy of the future bills as and when they actually start billing: 'That is a problem with this technology, and nothing can be done about it.' And this I have on a tape! So while you appreciate the beautiful handset of LG and its wonderful features, be prepared to trust(?) Reliance to send you bills for which they cannot vouch! ~ThumbInMouth PS: I am seriously thinking to sue Reliance for breach of trust, for not delivering what they promised and for running a misleading advertising campaign (like STD@40 paise; I am sure any court will agree that 'STD' or subsriber Trunk Dialling means and has always meant 'calling outside your local network', and NORead More

Dear Lalya, This is sheer amazing stuff. Very well-written. One of the best reviews I have read at MS. Just want to point out an error and an omission. The error is the mention about the Guiness Book of Records. I wonder how can Amul Butter hope to get the highest billing as the longest runnin...g ad campaign. I believe Malboro antedates Amul by years if not decades, and since that theme still runs unchanged, I doubt that claim of Amul. The omission is no tribute to Amul ads can be complete without mentioning the one name--Bharat Dabholkar, the brilliant copywriter who has a lion's share in making the ad campaign famous. Anyways, a great review, u deserve an HR. ~ThumbInMouthRead More

Read your review. Enjoyed it. It revived my memories of the time when I had read this really fab book many years ago. Until I stubmbled at a parallel drawn between Rhett Butler and Howard Roark! It's blasphemous! It's almost a sacrilege to take both their names in the same breath! For gossake..., I recommend you once again go back and read The Fountainhead. Coz if you term Howard Roark's self-sufficiency as selfishness and compare it with the ruthlessness of Rhett Butler, you have perhaps NOT understood The Fountainhead. Anyway, as far as your review goes, it's very good. Your choice of adjectives to desribe your experience is very apt--gives the exact feel to the reader what emotional reaction you have towards this great masterpiece. Keep up the good work. ~TiMRead More

I am shocked to read this review. Right now, I am sittting at the same window sill where u and i enjoyed that lovely drink and that lovely chat. I'm sorry I could not visit MS for more than a month, but kid, what's bothering u? Whosoever disturbed u to this extent--may his soul RIP. Do dro...p in or call me on cell. Or even better, just come over for dinner on one of these evenings, my wife will cook chicken that u loved last time (NOT THE SAME, IDIOT, a fresh one!), and I will ensure that your 'spirit' again soars high. ~ThumbInMouthRead More

was not exactly blown off my feat watching SS' earlier movies, especially Jurassic Park which I thought was a sad commentary on what is the IQ of an average American if they, as a nation, made a super hit out of it. So I think we jell there. And maybe this could be one movie that might be more to... my liking. Thanks to your review, I am eagerly looking forward to check it out. ~TiMRead More

Deer Pooj, Looks like I have been missing a lot of action here on MS. But can't really help it. Am too busy to breathe at times. Hope to catch up with u all soon. Btw, I am myself using the same instrument for some time now. I bought it solely becuase I trust Samsung for their products. You ca...n safely say I am a Samsung man. Got AC, fridge (bio-fresh), TV (this one is their 'vision plus' model that I think was on the market for a very brief period. God knows why they discontinued it, as far as picture and sound performance are concerned, it can easily compete with the best). So when I was in a hurry to catch a flight that would have left without me if I had been late by 15 more minutes, the only cell phone I could have bought was obviously SAMSUNG, as I can almost blindly trust that company. Well, I bought it from Alpha (the famous shop at Irla), paid Rs. 7,600 for it, got a 'petty pack' piece that included an original owner's manual, hands free car kit and charger. However, later when I saw almost everyone at the Mahalaxmi racecourse using the same instrument, and inquired what they shopped it for, virtually no one had paid more than Rs.6,700 for it! Felt like a fool for buying it from Alpha! Anyway, a great review by you yet again. Contratulations. Keep writing. ~ThumbInMouth PS: Forgot to mention. My comp monitor is SAMSUNG too (Samtron 45 Bn model). Love, ~ TiMRead More

it would have been better if you had mentioned what faculty this college belongs too. I read more than half the review wondering about it when it told me that it is an engg college. You may edit this review to get that fact at the beginning. Anyway, it WAS a nice review, and a good warning to all... aspiring engg students so that they are not fooled by this and such other colleges. Keep writing good reviews. ~ ThumbInMouthRead More

Dear Shrikanth, lovely review this, as usual. I believe in the adage 'Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder'. And in that limited sense, though I don't subscribe to ALTRUISM, I have yet to come across a more beautiful woman than Mother Theresa. Every wrinkle in her face, I think, is mu...ch more beautiful than all the curves put together from all the wonderful bodies that walk the ramp today. But this is strictly my personal view, and am aware most of the world will find it difficult to relate to my idea of beauty. Well, before I forget, it was a swell review, so let me go back and rate it as HR. ~ ThumbInMouthRead More
