The last time I wrote a review recommending a product was more than a year ago.

My personality does not allow me to recommend products too much because I am a big cynic. I always look for negatives in anything.

This cynicsm has brought me lot of heat on Mouthshut.com. This does not mean that I have drastically changed my outlook towards life. I still analyse and study anything critically, hence my reviews on Bangalore--which unfortunately generated too much controversies by some ''die-hard-psuedo Bangalore lovers.''

This time, to convince these pseudo-Amrita bashers, I am actually writing about a product that I love and have been in love with since the first time I flew them.

British Airways, I love this airline. I love the way it's logo appears, I love its name, I love its slogan, I love it!

Now on Mouthshut there have been some very diverse opinion of this airline. One of the common grouse is that British Airways has shown racist attitude when dealing with passengers.

I cannot guarantee that they have not done so, but I can vouch that they have never shown me or passengers around me any racist attitude in more than 4-5 times I have travelled on this airline.

Usually the ground staff of this airline is very courteous and friendly. They have even allowed me extra weight without charging me for it on few ocassions. There is

always a smile on their face and they take extra care to make sure you are properly checked-in.

Cabin Crew:

This airline has some of the most professional cabin staff that I have come across.

Don't expect them to be bimbettes, but they are refined, well groomed in customer handling and of-course a pleasing personality.

Service: Their food is much better than food serve on most airlines. They take care of special dietary requirements. You will enjoy their smoked salmon with rice and some vegetables, warm buns, a fruit salad, a chocolate dessert, a fruit-based dessert, and a chocolate mint, a very nice sweet and tea afterwards. They also provide you extra items as standard service, such as socks and eyeshades a nice, large blanket and comfy pillows.

Arrival and Departure: Their track record for punctuality is well known, however sometimes due to holiday rush or overbooking, may get delayed by an hour or so. I have not heard many complaints of timings wrt to British Airways. London Heathrow is their hub and you have hundreds of connections from there to several countries, if you are looking for transit connection.

I have never lost my luggage with them, nor have they bumped me off their flight due to any reason whatsoever at any time.

What I don't like of them:

Frequent Flyer:

They have all these Exective club miles benefits etc. Overall I am not very impressed with their frequent flyer scheme. They do show degree of bias in this regard. They

have openly shown preference to frequent fliers of their own Airline, rather than the One World alliance miles of which they are a member. They need to improve their rewards policies and also show more concern for all Frequent flyers, irrespective of which airline they are from.

Ticket price:

You can expect to pay 10% more than other airline when booking a seat with BA. British Airways has always been expensive, but now they are realising that there is competetion from Virgin Atlantic and other good carriers, hence they are reducing their rates to match those of their competitors.

In closing, fly British Airways if you are interested in enjoying your travel and not just Getting there!

A request to Amrita bashers on Mouthshut:

Please don't create a controversy on this one, if my review appears under hot review. Yes I always read comments on my review but I do not always reply to the dumb ones.

Thank you for your reading and rating.
