Intro of the college:

Let me start by saying that I joined this college as part of its first batch of students. It was initially located at Airoli and guess what we had 2 classrooms in which lectures were conducted and initially it had no labs at all. We were all given the promise that a proper college would come up within a year at bandra which never happened. It's no secret that the college management has been really been misusing the funds and fees payed by students. In the first year of the college we were really given a raw deal as the building in which the lectures took place was a school and very often we would come in the morning and find that our lectures have been cancelled as a result of which we had nothing but grief during that year. The result of which was that out of a total of 180 students 162 failed.

I must mention that the professors were no good and they did not even have basic communication skills.

A lot of the students especially the girls were literally harassed by the professors during oral exams or during submission of their journal work. Well, the next year the college shifted to Koparkhairane which in near Vashi besides the location and some basic facilities nothing much changed. For a change we had proper classrooms and oh yes labs and drinking water too !!! The college continued to receive donations from rich students and the management's pockets grew heavier.

I know this may sound really cynical but what I have written here is nothing but the honest truth and it can be verified by all my colleagues.

Work ethics : I would like to point out that most of the college professors still lack basic communications skills although of late I've seen a few professors who actually care about teaching. My point is how can you expect a student to perform or learn when there are so many shortcomings.

This college was given the lowest grade by the university of bombay for two years. Once a college has been blacklisted it cannot accept new admissions but ''Smt. Indira Gandhi College of Eng'' used their political clout and got a better grade.

My recommendations: I strongly recommend people to do a little research about the college they are about to join and look for the following :

Check out the basic infrastructure of the college like its classrooms, labs ( this may sound trivial but it is important).

Try and meet some of the students there especially the third and fourth year students to get a proper perspective of the college and its working.

Speak to the professors of the college and get their opinions.

Check for the grading of the college with the respective university and also check if it has been black listed in it's previous years.

Look for the pass and fail percentage records of students of the college in their first and last year this is a clear indicator of the quality of education.

My advise is : Never ever compromise your quality of education just for the sake of getting a degree !!!
