Hi..some suggestions to deal with Hsbc : 1. Hsbc’s Nodal officer is based in Chennai (at least it was when I last checked their website ) . Suggest you approach them in writing as well as visiting their office. The Hsbc website gives a grievance procedure . In addition to the Nodal officer you ...could write to the person in-charge of their banking services. http://www.hsbc.co.in/1/2//miscellaneous/ grievance-redressal 2. Further you could write to Hsbc Headquarters and ask them if this is their idea of service . Address: HSBC Holdings plc 8 Canada Square London E14 5HQ Telephone: + 44 (0)20 7991 8888 3. Write to the RBI . They have a cell that deals with banks on customer related issued. 4. Lodge a police complaint against HsbcRead More

Wow . This sounds like something from a fiction novel . Try consumer courts , complaint to RBI . Maybe even write to some news channels . Instead of trivial issues being telecast repeatedly at least genuine customer issues can be highlighted. Hopefully publicity will make companies more careful in h...andling issues.Read More

I have a Rs 0.79 outstanding amount on my credit card . This bank is crazy enough to print such a bill and incur the expense of couriering it . 10k is big money for such folks. Logon to their website and see the grievance addressal procedure . Write to the senior most person listed there . Not s...ure if it will help . But worth a shot perhaps in addition to other channels of communication which you are currently pursuing.Read More

Hi..there seems to be a typo error . Your review mentions 'yes' for member's recommendation. You might want to rectify that to 'no'

Send a written complaint to RBI . You'll be able to find it online. Write to newspapers and magazines . Write to the Banking Head at Hsbc (you'll find it on their website). Start an email , sms campaign to alert people re Hsbc.

Congratulations ! It is truly alarming to see the extent to which this bank stoops to make money somehow. No values , ethics or even basic processes seem to be in place.

Wow . This is really incredible . I suppose the mafia can be alerted that there is a deep talent pool for them in Hsbc should they ever feel the need to increase manpower .

Cancelling the card is a good option. Maybe you can approach Tata-AIG as well and tell them that you are being harassed by Hsbc , approach consumer court (that should not be expensive), write to financial newspapers and magazines . There is a grievance redressal procedure at the Hsbc website . Check... it out and write to their nodal officer , head of banking etc. Hsbc is an unbelievably customer insensitive bank. It's important for consumers to make their voice heard . Besides solving the problems for the individual concerned it may (hopefully) deter Hsbc from harassing other customers in future.Read More

Good review :) Hsbc does seem to think of it's customers as village idiots. My experience with them on the cards has been largely ok . Their banking operation is a totally different story .

Hsbc's conduct is pathetic . It seems to be an organization that has no concern at all for customers . Recently I read an interview of Ms Kidwai . She talked about the business in the most clinical way . It's evident that the lack of concern for customers starts from the top . Maybe you should write... to HSBC's headquarters and ask them if this is their idea of customer service.Read More

I am a highly disappointed customer of Hsbc . Am quite alarmed to read that the bank denies communication from their nodal officer . My consistent experience with Hsbc is that they see customers as a means to an end (their profits ) .

@ Mayunk Anyone would be better organized when compared with Hsbc . This is an organization that thoroughly confuses appearances with substantive action and customer service. Often when I have called the bank officials they say they are in 'training' . Training for what is unclear because none... of it seems to alter or enhance the customer experience . I'm tempted sometimes to compile a case study 'how not to run a bank' based on experiences with the world's local bank :) A newspaper article few months ago mentioned that Hsbc's recruitment policies follow a norm of hiring women proportionate to the number of women in an educational institution. “If there are 30% girls in an educational institution, then they account for at least 30% of our hirings from that institute.” A policy like this is arbitrary and serves the interest of no stakeholder . The company will lose out on some outstanding candidates simply on the grounds of gender . Likewise , there would be candidates who would be denied an opportunity simply because of their gender ( sorry you don't fall in the 30% ) . Talent has no gender . Clearly Hsbc at this point in time lacks talent and the intent to provide service to customers.Read More

Hsbc is full of such ridiculous ideas . Few months ago I received a mailer from Hsbc ostensibly about a charity that supports education for underprivileged children . On reading it carefully it was a pathetic and ill-conceived sales gimmick . The offer was 'As a Premier customer you sign up a family... member for Premier banking and the person successfully opens a Premier a/c (which has pretty high balance requirements ) then Hsbc will make a contribution to the charity for 1 child' . Nowhere did the mailer say that Hsbc is already supporting education for 1000 children ( or even 1 child ) and that if you open an account it will add to the good work . The 'world's local bank' will make the contribution of an unknown sum for the education of 1 child if a person opens a Premier a/c . How lame is that ? The 8 page mailer that came in a plastic cover had about 1.3 pages devoted to the NGO and balance all on Hsbc . It was a waste of paper and the recipient's time. I doubt whether even one child's education was sponsored by this hare brained scheme :) ( my apologies to hares for quoting them in reference to Hsbc ) Read More

Hsbc is the worst bank to take a loan from . Once the loan is taken they just keep increasing the rates . Their loans statements are an attempt to hide information as basic and important as the interest rate . To know what is the interest rate being charged one has to email and call the bank officia...ls repeatedly . The disconnect between the branch officials and the home loan section can be the subject of a case study ' how not to run a bank' .Read More
