I have Honda Dio. The rear suspension is very hard and started getting slight back pain. I came across a video in youtube where someone has replaced the Activa rear suspension with the one of TVS Jupiter. I tried it last week and after driving around 50 kms in different roads I feel it is much bette...r. Cost of TVS Jupiter / Wego suspension is Rs. 1010 in Bangalore. It is a straight fit for Honda Dio. I believe it would be same for Activa too.Read More

Hi Thulasidoss, This modification required me to change bore and piston. If you are going to replace with original connecting rod (or one with exact dimensions as original) crank shaft change won't be required. However this has to be done by expert mechanic, especially when it comes to pinning conne...cting rod with crank shaft. Ideally crank shaft wont require to be changed and wont get damaged easily like other parts. Pls check the wear and tear.Read More

It would be helpful if you can share details of the service (cost breakup of what parts were replaced), which service center you got your bike serviced at etc. Did you raise a consumer court complaint ?

Despite being underpowered the car scores in areas of comfort, safety, AC, braking, space etc. This was the reason I gave it 5 out of 5 keeping in mind the cost of the car. Always wanted to have more powerful engine for this car though.

My Brother and myself rode to our native place (Nagercoil, Kanyakumari) , last weekend. The route we took was Bangalore - Sarjapur - Berikai - Schoolagiri - Krishnagiri - Dharmapuri - Salem - Madurai - Tirunelveli - Nagercoil (Kanyakumari). Around 700 kms. Was very good experience. While going... we had some unplanned stoppings and it took around 9.5 hours to reach. Night visibility was not that great. I have philips Diamond Vision H4 bulb. But not sure if I need to adjust something, but visibility was not satisfactory. So we were not confident to cross 120 kmph. Couple of instances where we could only notice some very cool people strolling across the 4 lane highway at very close proximity. They showed no tension and walked as if they were walking across there varandha. At Nagercoil went to a known mechanic and fitted a pair of loud horns (Minda, the one that looks like a snail shell). Windtone horn or something. That really helped on the way back to bangalore. Sunday at 2 pm we left Nagercoil. We faced severe head winds till Madurai and was difficult to cross 110 kmph speed. After that it was better and we maintened 120 to 130 kmph speed. Reached Bangalore at 10 pm. On the way at Dharmapuri Adyar Anandha Bhavan we met Pradeep Mohan and his friends, guess they were on their way back from Palaghat. For the entire trip it consumed around 45 litres and distance covered was 1450 kms which translates to ~ 32 kmpl mileage Certain things we felt could have been better 1. Wind Visor could have been designed better. Doesnt deflect much wind away, instead wind blast is directed to chest, head. For a bike designed with touring configuration in mind this should have been addressed. 2. Headlights focus on low beam seems to be OK, But High beam is not effective. Experiened friends please advice. 3. Braking Sharpness could have been better. Atleast the CBR150R brakes seem to be very sharp. 4. Range of the bike I felt to be bad. Once every 230 toRead More

Hi Sachin. In 6th gear cbr 250r touches 98 kmph at 6000 rpm. 4000 rpm is the rpm from where the power and torque starts increasing then on. Below 4000 rpm it is drivable in 4th or 5th gear but struggles on 6th. I havent noticed the 3rd or 4th gear speed-rpm. Will get back to you in a day or two with... that. In city if it is more than 60 we can go to 6th. 50 to 60 would be 5th. 40 to 50 on 4th. I stay near outer ring road in bangalore and i get to reach 60 in some stretches where i can use 6th. But in city 3rd or 4th would be ideal. Shift rpm would be in my view 4000 rpm for gears above 4th. Hope this helps. Read More

Hi Vimal, I am Sorry. There was an issue with my credentials and I couldnt login to Mouthshut. So for a long time I couldnt reply. First thing is to remove the spark plug and check for the colour of the plug tip (Top part). If it is like coffee powder or rusted Iron. Your carburettor is in perfe...ct tune. Its better to leave it untouched. If it is completely black you have scope of improvement. If it is completely shining it is running very lean and mileage might be good but power might be less on the top end. Tuning the carburettor. Locate the Air Screw in the carburettor. Screw it in and make sure you note down how many turns you have done to completely close the screw in (How many 360 degrees turn). Now gradually Open the screw to 2.5 turns. Ride it for around 20 to 40 kms. Remove the spark plug once it is cooled down and note down the colour of the plug. If it is clean like silver shining you have tuned for lean burn, if it is rusty colour or coffe colour it is perfect. If it is black colour try opening the air screw another 180 degrees or 0.5 turn. Again clean the plug and ride it for 20 to 40kms. Continue the same until you get the rusty colour plug tip.Read More

You have described about Tata's service. How about the other ratings you have provided. 1. Fuel Consumption - you have given 3/5. This engine is one of the best (International Engine of the year award winner). Giving a mileage of 21+ on highway and 15 to 16 in city driving conditions. Does it dese...rve only 3/5 2. Reliability - Has the car failed you anywhere while travelling. 3. Comfort - The longest car with one of the biggest boot and one of the best suspensions. 4. Looks - In my opinion she is a stunner. Again it is subjective. Please provide honest ratings so that people can get a better perspective of the vehicle. In comparison to SX4, Manza do you feel this is worse than them?Read More

I am having a Linea Multijet emotion (KA53Z1434) since 2011 August. My youngest brother has Punto Multijet Active in Chennai and another brother has Punto 90 bhp in Bangalore. My cousin has Punto 1.2 Active (Petrol) in Chennai. Non of us have experienced such bad issues so far. Before this I had a F...iat Palio Stile 1.1. Once my A/C blower had an issue in Palio and was replaced free of cost as it was in warranty period. It took 1 week for spares to arrive. So far experience has been wonderful. You are talking about poor plastics inside. Which other car has better plastics, Hyundai, Maruti, Tata ???? I have had best experiences with Fiats especially wonderful engine, gearbox, chassis, especially braking. As you said I have never faced issues with A/C coil or anything or any of my friends or brothers. May be you can check with another service center or write to Fiat. Fiat cars are wonderful products. And now that Fiat is going to go separate ways from Tata with their own Service and Sales Centers things will get better. But as a product it is one of the best and definitely much better than the Marutis and Hyundais. HYUNDAI AND MARUTI BOAST ABOUT THEIR AFTER SALES SERVICE - BUT I HAVE NEVER HEARD THEM BOAST ABOUT THEIR CARS :)Read More
