This review is based on my experience with Honda Amaze which was purchased by my friend.
We test drove the car and liked the car's performance and he immediately booked the car. Now its almost 2 and a half months since he got the car.
Pros
Car pulls easily. Goodpickup due to powerful engine. Turbo lag not much felt, may be due to car being very light. Excellent power to Weight Ratio.
Mileage reported by many people was 22+ on highways. My friend is getting 17 to 18 kmpl mileage.
AC very good
Bootspace, Rear Legroom - Very good for a sub 4 meter car.
Smooth engine and gear shifts, Noise insulation good.
Cons
Very poor plastic quality(Built for the price) and other components. For instance honda has given a very small single horn which can be seen in a TVS Scooty.
The door pading is at par with Alto. The Dash board too is of very poor build quality and feels it might break anytime.
Seats offer average comfort.
Narrow tires to achieve good mileage may be. But with this engine power and torque car can achieve high speeds easily. With these tires god only should save the people inside, should anything happen. Average to Poor braking power mostly due to narrow small tires.
Incident: My friend happened to hit a dog at around 40 kmph speed. The front bumper due to the impact flexed inside and hit the AC Condenser and damaged it. The bumper is flexible and it immediately flexed back to original state. Even the paint hasnt gone and it is impossible to find that he had hit a dog. As a result of this he had to replace it which costed him 22000 Rs. At the service center when they removed the front bumper we were schocked to see

Right behind the bumper the AC Condenser, Engine radiator and Turbo Intercooler are placed. Even the slightest impact can damage one of these or all of these components.
In an effort to reduce the length of the sedan to less than 4 meters honda has cramped up the front engine compartment area and squeezed in all mechanicals inside. The car is also built to be as light as possible. I am not sure how it would take an impact in the event of a head on collision etc.
As of now as the car is new spares are not available readily and customer will have to wait for some time. May be honda will accelerate spare parts production soon.
In my view it would be wise to think twice before buying a SUB 4 METER sedan. Manufacturers would definitely compromise some where to achieve such targets. If you take the Swift Dzire Maruti has compromised on the rear boot space(300 liters). In my view it would be better to buy a big hatch back. Hatch backs like Fiat Punto, Hyundai I20, Mahindra Verito Vibe, Ford Figo etc. offer boot space very close to this. And such boot offer usable space too.
