This weekend, Saturday lunch, we went to Spaghetti Kitchen that's newly opened @ Lido Mall in Bangalore. Now this is an Italian restuarant in a mall, it is a part of a food chain ( yeah like McDonalds ) and even had a positive review in the previous day's Bangalore Times. I know, I know- t...Read more

Windsor Pub is one of my favourite places. Its one of those places 'Bangaloreans' would like and frequent. I haven't been there in a while. After reading your cheerful review, I most certianly will visit one of these days! :) Regards, Swarna.

Rock on - as usual. :) Even I volunteered to donate some toys for the sets! But then, they never came around to collect it. I will check out the play and come back and let you know what I thought! Regards, Swarna.

Hello Arnab, I read both your versions of 'review' and I couldn't make much of it both times. But - I think I have an idea of what depression is. There were some hugely challenging phases in my life when I was adviced by my family friends to consult for depression and medication. But ...there was one specific person who told me that everything is about *negative* thinking and disrupting our mindmaps and sleep patterns. Its really so simple! I have worked on that consciously and believe no medication will help until we work on our thoughts. And here are two links for you - I hope you will take time out to read them and hopefully will find them useful - coping.org http://www.clinical-depression.co.uk/depression.html Regards, Swarna. Hi Saurabh, Thanks for the review. I am a huge fan of Ruskin Bond. How wonderful to find a few others too. :) And I too thought, 'Delhi is not far' to be one of his finest works. Thanks for the review. I am buying this book this weekend. Regards, Swarna.

Just a little trivia - Sunita Menon ( the celebrity card reader ) was telling Karan Johar is her Zoom show Kosmic Chat that - Karan experiences a lot of pressure to do 'hatke' movies and not be slotted for doing sweet flicks. He agreed. She told him to stick to his genre and not try to please other ...people etc - and that it was not necessary and so on! Well, I see Kaal as a good example of that. Both Sunita's advice and Johar's need to prove himself beyond candyfloss. Kaal is a Movie with which Karan Johar is trying to make a point! Quite unnecessarily though. I love his genre of movies anyway - it makes for great entertainment! That apart, this movie is a total dud - which was killed by the overhype anyway. A dissappointment - but an expected one. So. :)Read More

Glad to see a review that gives a low rating to the movie. This was one hell of a dissappointing movie. The comedy, the music, the story base are all very poor quality. The promos hype the movie a bit too much. Some parts like AB falling ill and Priyanka delivering at the same time is a bit to...o too much to take. The dialogs setting up a premise are repeated so often. Scenes repeat themselves.. about AB's illness - and him trying to tell and discuss with his wife. Sheesh! And yes - AK acting skills are really worth a dekko. But thats it. AB also overdoes himself. What a dissappointment. :( Read More

My compliments. This is a superb review. I haven't read anything of this calibre for a long time anywhere, including the 'official' media.

A great review. Especially your comments on each of the compositions. And of course, it was simply delightful reading about the evolution of your musical preferences. I recently heard Bandhen and was so glad Indian Ocean happened. I went and bought Kandisa.

Hey San_Gee, I went to RangaShankara yesterday (30 Jan '05) to watch the French Travelling Theatre 'FootsBarn' staging 'Perchance to Dream'. It was my first time at RangaShankara. I simply simply loved the place. It reminded me of Prithvi Theatre in Mumbai only - RangaShankara is much more spaci...ous. First of all, I am so glad there is now space in Bangalore dedicated to theatre and theatre only. Rather than piggy-backing in auditoriums meant for music and having to depend on Govt run places like Ravindra Kalakshtera. It's truly admirable of Arundati Nag for realising a project such as this - for theatre and in memory of her husband. Here's wishing that RangaShankara thrives and keeps the theatre scene rocking in Bangalore!Read More
