The theater festival began on the 27th Oct in Ranga Shankara. Tickets were sold at a unbelievable 49Rs. And the crowd was going mad. For those who (like me) never had an exposure to stage plays, this is a blessing. Arundathi Nag, the woman behind this 3.5 crore project promises 300 shows in 365 days. Bringing artists from all over India and more. The theater is designed exceptionally well (dont know the architects name) and there is a book store and coffee shop in the place. One place were you can find the young and the old sit and discuss!!
The auditorium is quite huge, with free seating principle. The rules are very strict (they know what they want) like 1) no late comers. all doors are locked at 7:30pm 2) no mobile phone (no silent modes). just TURN OFF your mobile. what a blessing!! (i hope they do this in movies also) 3) no children below 8 yrs old 4) no eating , driking, talking etc inside.
All this can transform your experience to something that we have never been in before. for those who are in Bangalore. march your way to J.P Nagar , 2nd phase near the police station. Enjoy
