i am talking about my state of mind right now, but i couldnt resist reading a review on my beloved ruskin by one of the good reveiwers. However am really confused and tired with all the work these days, so will answer your questions, which i love more than anything.
The best story by Bond is not ...a question i expected from you, considering the vastness and beauty of his stories. but still, a few of them wud be...
1. love is a sad song
2. The girl from copenhagen
3. The eyes have it all.
i dont think any of his novels inspire me to be cheerful and happy, rather they transport me to his world of unknown hills, and mystical people. its more about comfort which his books offer. One of his novels which really moves me is 'Time stops at Shamli'. Its a beautiful piece of work, supposedly the continuation of the story 'love is a sad song'.
Which other indian writer? there is none, at least for me. Ruskin derives his simplicity from another forgotten writer of yester years, John Ruskin, who also wrote about hills.
Other indian writers have written about something definite, they lose themselves in their stories, which is not a bad thing! but Bond has his motive clear, of always finding immeasurable beauty in whatever he does. You have taken the name of Seth. I would say Seth reached Bonds simplicity in only one of his novels 'An Equal Music'.

i saw this movie, and was spellbounded and thanx a zillion for that poem... i was searching for the name.
get the soundtrack 'everybody gotta learn sometime' by beck, it is immensely haunting and a must have.

i just got this phone, about a week back, and i am duly impressed for the cost which i got it for! that a neat review... also the camera CAN take good pictures n videos.
the only minus is the battery life, i expected more

you seem to be overly biased against mumbai mirror, without any good justification, and towards mid day. i am currently woking as a promoter for mumbai mirror, and i stand at a newspaper stall in VT from morning till afternoon, and i know how sales have changed.
And maybe you dont realise that m...id day is planning to jack off its price, and is trying to voo vendors like never before. if mumbai mirror is so inferior and stupid, why is mid day trying to clutch its pants??
try and read mumbai mirror before writing it off as a tabloid, and take ur mind off mid day's greatness just for two minutes.

there are lots of takers, and why do u think in that direction? maybe u are getting much too popular :)). but anyways, i have read nearly all his works, the omnibus, except a room on the roof, and a flight of pigeons. i wrote a revu on Delhi is not far: the best of ruskin bond.

and i like to rock. Metallica never impressed me that much, all my friends are totally crazy for it though. Unforgiven, and wherever i may roam are my personal faves. otherwise Bob dylan, Pink Floyd, The doors and other classic rockers do the thing for me. with a lil bit o grass, if u please... ;)

that was a honest precise revu, very rare on MS now. but u put forth ur opinions well and the book too. lolita still remains on my to be read list, and i dont think anything more could be added to ur revu.

ur revu was pretty good, but i fail to agree about the movie. i think it was one of the worst movies i have seen till date in a hall, specially if u call it spooky. urmila doesnt suit in the role of 20 something, shes looks old and fat, and the movie fails to drive a point.
the movie is certainly... worth a miss.

that is, me commenting on ur revu, as it is you write exceptionally good revus, and no one can fill Premjits gap, you have made the mark, nonetheless.
have been searching this book in all the bookstores, and no one seems to stock. would give u a more sincere opinion when i read it.
and i also mis...s your questions at the end, they provided good food for thought, can i expect them in the future???

that was a well written revu abt a good book, but i guess the opinions were expressed quite strongly, wether against hindus or not, doesnt matter. its not easy to brand religion like that, it takes 2 to quarrel.

but then, i would say it lacked any thoughts on the role played by williams, of course you have well researched the whole movie, and perhaps it is better than the first one. this movie definitely was an experience to remember, and i loved it!

that was a good first revu, welcome to MS. and then, u wrote about ruskin, my all time favourite author... certainly i agree wid u on all the points there, and believe me there is much more to add. i have read almost all bonds, and uptil now i am not sure which one i can call my favourite. in the st...ories, i guess it wud be 'love is a sad song' and in the novels, it wud definitely be time stopd at shamli.
do read his biography, and also his actual love story.

that was an awesome review on my favourite habit(specially in a hostel), eating. however i disagree on the part where DD comes in, i used to love watching Jiggs Kalra make his dishes, and the show did have some Panache. unfortunately most of them were non vegetarian,
and if u ask me, sometimes i ...think Mr.Kapoor is a bit over hyped...
