No to Nokia and the 7710!Here's why: 1:Sluggish?!?The 7710 is no smartphone, as anyone who has stumbled into its hanging habits knows.Phones on Windows Mobile,Psion or Linux Qtopia are more stable 2:Yes,she's got the loox, but try answering a call, and you are very likely to press keys using your e...ars,and no,you cannot lock keys while making a call. 3:7710 is liable to suffer from the Nokia Liquid Damage Syndrome.I visit the Nokia Care center every week (to check up on my Liquid Logged 7600, her condition is critical(sniff!), just because of a few rain drops),I've seen a few 7710s in there already. 4:Far from being even a good PDA, I couldn't even play video files on the test set, apparently you've to download apps for it,which I understand are hard to find for Series 90 phones. Great review! Regards, ChrysRead More

LDS, you wonder, what is that in the title? Well, that is why you like me will decide NEVER to buy a Nokia product in your life. I was there a couple of days ago.No complaints on my count.I think the staff were rather friendly, actually. The recipes do desire refinement. The pricing can be made more competitive as well.I do hope you were talking of Gulati's at Pandarrs Road. That's the one I'm talking of.

Santoshi film with big brand endorsements?I think it is sad when you are bombarded with advertisements before the te movie/during the intermission. And now sadly, WITHIN the movie!(Cast Away is a different story, as the entire storyline revolved around a FedEx employee.).Lagaan scores over Swades i...n the Don't-advertise-within-the-movie department. Conclusion: Watch the movie, and gather your own conclusions.Must watch if you are an NRI.Might just change your life, and others lives too! *No offence intended.I'm an NRI myself. Read More

le how to Construct ideas themselves, but as an 'enlightened evangelical epistle' almost as a consultant.Thankyou, we have plenty of them here. Then, the bad : ->1:Somehow, the message becomes a little lost amongst the chorus of messages regarding empowering India. It actually sidesteps the r...eal issues that affect empowerment in this country.Yes, caste, and more are responsible for its lethargic pace in villages like Charanpur. But to blame it all on tradition is like saying you can't swim because you are blind.A miss off the mark completely. The real causes, are many, ofcourse, ais corruption that permeates nearly every square inch of this country.India's traditions are scared, and will remain so,and its family values and and social mores, should not ape others. ->2:Who calls satelites with stale names like The Global Precipitation Measurement Satellite!Let me guess, NASA!What happened t names like Aquarius or Chandra or Kallis?!Sheeesh! To measure actual precipitation you need to be here on Earth, not a satelite in Lagrange orbit! There are no shots of the astronauts boarding the Orbiter or on the orbiter :(,which is sad, unless the director wanted to send the impression that the orbiter was being used as an unmanned SLV!Yes,the liftoff sequence is cool (mostly Blue Screen/animation),but why is the announcer doing it like a cricket commentary?!?! ->3:The movie is also a big time advertisement for FedEx Express, which is a tiny, very INVISIBLE player in the DHL-ruled courier business here in India. It is no wonder that Shah Rukh Khan is shown carrying the FedEx package himself, as opposed to a courier. The last time I checked, FedEx had trouble getting their trucks labelled properly, here.As also, some other major brands, watch the movie, and you can pick out the brands.[Clue:It is Smoking ****** is bad for your breath, and your health.] No, I know nada about movie budgets, but when was the last time you saw a Steven Spielberg/Luc Besson or even a Raj KuRead More

unate' to have been born poor etc.You don't feel like crying at the system, the people/the politicians. You cry because you cannot do anything. To change his destiny, or the millions other like him.Or can you? The movie says that you can, though it is preferable if you armed with an iBook, (Appare...ntly a must have in the Information Age)!:-oI wonder who and where people like Mr. Mohun, the NASA returned Scientist that Shah Rukh Khan, (the protagonist plays in the movie)are, because the last time I visited remote parts of India, it was exotically named local NGOs and the people themselves running empowerment programs doing much of the development work,!Not NASA,not NRIs,not even the government. But hey, that is a forgivable sin, as the real reason the movie is worth a dekko is the spiritual saga in the story. The movie's spiritual storyline is about Shah Rukh' own inner journey. A jurney of self discovery more than anything else.Cynics would disagree with this thought, but the fact is, the inner self is truly the way to outer discovery.A message that the movie 'drives home, beautifully'. The good part first: ->1:I think I've already mentioned it, but apparently, the soundtrack is something that is stellar,in addition to the well composed and conducted score.Expect a duo like Javed Akhtar and A.R. Rahman to create magic, alright. The music was in my CD collection long before I viewed the movie. ->2:Interesting cinematography showing the rather dull scenery in a new fresh, interesting light a la Lagaan. ->3:Interesting to finally see an NRI return to India in a Bollywood movie for more than just an NRI bride, after the usual MBA from Harvard/Oxford :)!Hats off to Ashutosh for that! ->4:The RV seemd pretty neat Hmm,I wished they'd included the address of the manufacturer in the credits!:) ->5:The movie hits the nail in the head in identifying ignorance as a major cause of backwardness. But sadly, Shah Rukh Khan is not showing showing peopRead More

The Story: The movie theme clearly talks about empowering and liberating people. It is really about people power. And the movie clearly comes with a 'you're go fly' endorsement from the world's foremost authority on space, NASA.Yes, we know the agency has been in the news for all the wrong reasons... recently, but as Sean o' Keefe's resignation recently proved , NASA is, will and always has been a people's organization. Not about Star Wars, secret military missions perfecting yet another secret weapon/UFO/battleship, out to fulfil another Robert Openheimer's crazy despotist mission. It is the agency that put the first man on the moon, not on a military mission, but to declare that humanity had reached the advanced level, when getting to another world is more important than fighting petty wars here on Earth. So clearly, it is very receptive to public opinion.(Or so, they want the public to believe, anyway.)On the other hand,NASA's presence in Bollywood is wonderful news to any space enthusiast/amateur stargazer ;)Someday, maybe we can film movies located closer home at ISRO/ESA/JAXA/RSA too.I won't mind these brands advertising in hindi movies a here nytime!Others, please excuse!. Shah Rukh Khan, the current king of Bollywood, as the austere Mohun Bhargave plays his part well.Back to the storyline, Shah Rukh Khan, plays Mohun Bhargava, this NASA project manager, in DC, who is getting nostalgic,as anyone who has been away from home has felt at some point in time. And so, begins Shah Rukh's 'returns-to-his-root-tale'.First, to get his nanny,Cauvery Ma to return to the US with, and then to discover himself, alongwith the real India-80% of India, which you don't hear/read/ and rarely see.The invisible India.T .Thus, really the unempowered. With dreams you sometimes see in the eyes of boys selling peanuts on the platform.Like the protagonist,it does make one feel like crying like that sometime. You don't feel like crying because that person is so poor, so 'unfortunRead More

->The Nokia 7600 physically and featurewise is more proximate to the 7600 than the Nokia 6600. In fact as you can tell, the 7600 is the artist's delight, whereas the 7610 is a cameraphone lover's dream. Both phones are good.I think the 6600, however is far too 'wide'. Try visiting www.nokia.co....in to download the settings directly to your cellphones for your CSP.Worx Ok for me. RegardZ, CA Read More

Exactly, and the review is far from being objective. Its like someone has a personal grouch against it. ->The 7650 and the 3560 that the authore recommends are in a different price band altogether, costing upwards of INR 14,000. ->The 3530, now, is a entry level phone lacking some ordinary fe...atures like Bluetooth, IR, MP3/AAC support. etc. RegardZ, CA Read More

Who cares if it is Taj Mahal (Islamic) or Tejo Mahalaya(Hindu) or Tajinsensis Mahliyensis(Buddhist) or The Taj Church!!! ->All I care is it is beautiful. It is about a man's love, no not just for a female, but for beauty and art..and a thing of beauty is a joy FOREVER! Personally, I'd hope there... is a stupa, a temple, a church, a mosque, a gurudwara, a synagogue, and more all at the same spot, just under it!!It will only make my and other people's love grow MORE for it! ->The Taj is poetry in stone and ORIGINAL !Can you atleast punch in an original review?;) RegardZ, CARead More

Yupp, agree with you buddy, 'Yeh Tara Woh Tara' are by far the best tracks in the category.Only I found the little kid,is it UN's son, singing all of a sudden in between a bit cacophonous. On the whole melodious. However, the title track, 'Yeh jo Des Hai Tera', itself is not too far behind either. ...->You've just inspired me to write my own review on 'Swades'.Way 2 go! RegardZ, CARead More

You've not mentioned anything about the wireless keyboard for the Nokia 6260, which I feel in the only saving grace for this model.I think Motorola makes the best flipphones. I prefer Nokia for its better feature(Nokia 9500), and arty aesthetics(Nokia 7600:Absolute piece of Art,shaped like a leaf!)... And the 6260 has the usual Nokia VGA camera which means at 640 X 480 pixels,or less than a Megapixel, .3 Megapixels actually.Read More
