Great critique there, esp. the 'Critical Eye' section.
I fully agree with you on the points you mention about the movie. Its got to be a gem coming out of Bollywood. The best contender for the Oscars next year I think.
'Yeh Hosla' is just so poignant. I can hear it again and again and stil...l it evokes the same emotions everytime. What a song. It conjures up the scene where Zeenat tries to spur Meera to get along with her on the train.

A smashing review on a bike that's now a proven legend in its class when it comes to Indian performance bikes.
A year-long tryst with this bike and it still looks, behaves and rock and rolls the same way as new. Maybe, we are expecting better perf. bikes on Indian roads. But Karizma is as good as ...it gets at least as of now. Never been a big fan of Pulsar though I see a lot of ppl raving about the 180.
As for the rear tyres, I've changed that to a Pirelli Sports Demon. It never failed me once even while extreme counter-steering on loose sand, pothole-filled and slimy Pune roads in the monsoons. Hey, go for a front tyre change too. 90/90 Pirelli or Duro should be fine.
Don't want to sound preachy here. But I tell this to everyone. Enjoy the power responsibly and say no to drags....and drugs too ;-)
You get a high riding a Karizma anyways!

I am surprised to know that you didn't like the 'dark' shots. Personally, I thought they were the most elegant and visually aesthetic shots coming out of an hindi film. How can you even compare a Yash Chopra type of sickeningly mushy flicks with this piece of art, beats me!
Vishal has pulled off a... brilliant film with a very unique adaptation that would do Shakespere proud had he been alive. Next time plz watch such films without any prejudice that is a result of years and years of being dished out a staple from the Yash Copra's kitchen..Read More

That was amazingly informative, yet concise, much contrary to my review on Belgium ;-)
The people are very friendly indeed and great food and beer. I must have tried atleast 8-10 different flavours of beer - all rocking!
I will surely watch out for more travelogues from you. Man, feel like goin...g there again..

..Karizma, as I found out, is a tireless work-horse..with enuf horses to make it a pleasurable ride every single time..I tell u mate, this machine has been and will be around for a long time..rest assured, the bike will fetch u a good bargain even if u sell it off a few years later..coz the bottomli...ne is, it simply is a neatly assembled bike! Many guys crib about the lack of 1-2 extra horses or a monoshock or a liquid cooled engine..More than flaws, they are just desired features..which doesn't mean bad quality!
For a bike in the 225 segment ZMA is quite a decent contender...Some idiots around compare litre bikes to 225cc bikes..gosh!
I have seen worst 250ccs than ZMA abroad coming from the likes of Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda..even though they were older models.
Anyway, p225 looks like a distant dream..and even if will be launched this year supposedly, it will be beyond most ppl's reach to afford it according to me..More than the P225, it's the Yamaha Fazer which will be competion to the Karizma..The day Yammie Fazer is launched..I am gonna book it..Gimme Yammie anyday than the desi hodgepodge..
Commenting on ur review, hope u don't mid..well, I thought it was too short and not enuf points on the bike..Your passion for the bike surely comes across, just wish it were a bit lengthier.

One of the few movies wherein I gave up being critical and judgemental even though it was predictable. The movie was gripping and touching with emotions running high and some great acting by Charz and Keanu and u said it, the kid!

Nice find dude..u seem to enjoy taking pot-shots thro' extensive research. But dude, u become way too serious with that..!
Anyway, I have PMed u on why I said the things I did. The bottom line is, the only way to understand a bulleteer is to get on the damn bike and get a good long ride at cruisin...g speeds. Take a pillion and loads of luggage, it doesn't seem to mind. It pulls thro' the ghats effortlessly. Comfort is top-notch coz of the gas shox. Only grouse, is its overpriced and engine rattles way too much as opposed to the smooth quieter nature of the Honda engines :) I don't wanna start a war, but I really do like ZMA a lot. But if it comes to touring, then I will take a Bullet anyday to the Himalayas simply coz it pulls like crazy! What say Benjamin?

This guy called anandreneke (who btw is a fugitive whoz just escaped from a mental hospital by stealing someone's P150 & vomiting his stolen bike's muck here) is just great at taking insults..he won't shut up even if he is torn and ripped apart to absolute tatters...I am sure he must be red hot insi...de burning with revenge abd reply with his most pathetic and illogical but funny answers..that's how these sickos who lack a higher purpose in life are..he will rot with his P150 forever even if bajaj launchs a litre bike which is highly unlikely..these guys just don't deserve anything better..all they can do is read stuff from the net, watch Dhoom, drool on big bikes and fantasize about owning them..so they end up thinking that theirs is a superbike and rip it like a hooligan..which he is undoubtedly..Hey Benjamin, I was actually caught between buying a Bullet and a ZMA. Finally I settled down to a ZMA coz I don't tour that often..(ZMA btw is even a touring bike, but not as torqueir and comfortable as a Bullet) I tried a T'bird and Electra and both had an awesome thump which is indescribable..except for anandrenake who farts on his P150..guess he must have run down a few ppl in his drag with his fellow zopadpattis and naukars' 150..too bad for Anand, he must have lost the race coz of the time spent in killing ppl..tsk tsk..

Hi Suresh,
I found Angels and Demons very rivetting coz of the plot and descriptions of various places in Rome, though I felt the last part was over the top till finally the supense was revealed. All the outrageous and unimaginable proceedings made made sense after reading the final few pages.... That when u know that the book is a winner and the author brilliant!

I agree with you 100%. Avenger is a make-shift bike in the guise of a 'cruiser'. I don't even like to call it a cruiser, although many guys want to call it a cruiser even with its 180ccs mill..hell, ppl won't mind even if it were fitted with a 100cc mill or 125 ccs like the enti...cer coz there are fools and Bajaj is smart enuf to cash on to them. Everytime I see a rider on Avenger I cannot help but notice the 'I'm cheated' face. Do read my review on Avenger and let me know your thoughts. My point is simple, its only worth buying a cruiser if its a Harley or a Triump or close (if u have the moolah)..otherwise you are better off without them.
Great review. Wish it were more detailed.
