Hi, When you turn the screw 'fully' anti-clockwise, the screw should come outside and in your hand. :) Please verify this. I have never worked with CT100. Please understand that 'anticlockwise = richer' in 4stroke bikes is a 'general rule'. I dont know if there are any exceptions to this. ... I recommend that you set the screw fully tight [clock-wise] [dont over tighten] then you unscrew it [anti-clockwise] just 3 times[full revolutions] and see how the bike performs. Cheers, Anand.Read More

When a company mentions power as 15.2bhp@8500rpm 1. it is for a stock bike. 2. It is the max power the engine or motor can provide under normal conditions. 3 the rpm is that rpm at which the max power/torque is delivered. 4 Max torque is always at a lower rpm. 5 At all other rpms the torque a...nd power are lower. A choke should be either ON or OFF as far as I know. It is not a device like an accelerator. The behaviour of your bike may be explained only by an automob engineer or thermodynamics expert. Try asking Amit_purohit20 you can find him in this comment line up..

bore x stroke of an engine decides the power band of an engine and not the life of the engine. I am not aware if a long stroke engine survives more than a short stroke engine or vice versa. a short stroke engine produces power later in the rpm band. a long stroke engine produces power earli...er in the rpm band.Read More

>’’Use the clutch extensively only in 1st gear. leave the clutch completely in all gears including 1st gear’’ This answer was about the long life of clutch. While taking off from zero km/hr [standstill] you should use the clutch so that the engine does not stop. At all other speeds and gears ...clutch should be released completely. Even in 1st gear after take off the clutch should be released completely. 'Half clutch is waste of power and loss of clutch life' Read More

In motoGP bikes, engine braking is considered to be a biggest drawback. These super bikes use slipper clutch mechanism. So when you pull one gear down, the engine does not transmit braking force[torque] to the tyres. Thus avoiding skidding and over-powering[rpm raise] In normal bikes if you ar...e at around top speed, try pulling in the clutch and the bike can go out of control because of no engine braking. Our bikes are not so aero-dynamic :) Cheers, Anand.Read More

M2Ms are not reliable. For long life of clutch plate, use the clutch extensively 'only' in the first gear. Leave the clutch completely in all the gears including 1st gear. Engine braking saves fuel - in other words, engine braking does not waste fuel :) That is because 1 you always drive ...at optimum speeds if you use engine braking. [thus you dont waste fuel by braking frequently] 2 you do not use the brakes so you save the brake drums and pads. 3 at idle engine running, negligible amount of fuel is 'wasted' since the engine is not doing any work. All the above 3 points contribute to saving fuel if you use engine braking rather than normal brakes. Engine braking does not affect clutch plate for good or bad. You can always contact me via M2M or post comment to be in contact with me. Cheers, Anand. Read More

The concept you are writing about is called engine braking. Its the best way to automatically slow down the bike. The braking is minimum in top gear. Engine braking in lower gears should be avoided in a brand new bike. NEVER pull the gear down and use the clutch [clutch + engine braking]... to stop as that will damage the gears, chain drive, engine and clutch parts. Do this only if the brakes have failed :) Engine braking saves fuel since you use every drop of fuel :) I hope that solves all your queries. I am no bike or auto expert, all these points are just my observations! Cheers, Anand.Read More

What do you mean by hot position? Since your engine turns off, I think the mixture is too lean. Before you touch the fuel screw. verify that the spark plugs are good. If the head of the plug [spark point/terminal] is white then the carb is tuned too lean and this will be a confirmation. Ju...st turn the screw 3 times from complete off position and I think that should be enough. Try it. Also ensure air filter is clean.Read More

Hi, Bajaj uses mikuni carburettor for pulsar and I think it uses mikuni for discover too. All over internet I have verified that in 4 stroke engine's carbs, anti-clockwise setting will make the mixture richer and richer. Do not listen to that bajaj mech. consult some other one or hsi superi...or. Mikuni is a very famous brand and yamaha used it in Rx100s to 1000cc R1s ::) in the past. honda and hero honda commonly use keihin carbs. karizma has keihin carb. bajaj platina has keihin make carb I guess. But for all 4 stroke carb anticlockwise turns will make the mixture richer the reason is that its a fuel screw - that is - it controls the fuel flow. In two strokes the same screw is the 'air screw', since it controls the air flow. More air will make the mixture lean, hence the concept is exact reverse in 2 strokes. Read More

Nit99901 For 4 stroke carburetted bikes the key rule is that anticlockwise turns will make the mixture richer. Remember that jets are the main influencing parameter for making the mixture rich/lean. 3 turns from most tight position should be OK for any bike. more than 4 is a waste. Che...ers, Anand.Read More

An exhaustive, detailed and cool review :) I guess all series 60 phones have less than 10MB RAM. They are slower but the features are worth it. I simply can not use any other phone than a nokia smartphone.. kinda addicted to it! ;) Cheers, Anand.

gears of P150 DTSi are not hard... The old classic pulsar's gearbox was known to be hard. Though I never drove a classic pulsar. I can actuate gears of my P150DTSi just by using my toe. (without shoes)

Well I guess you are the one who really understands me here... People just tend to jump on me because I criticise 'em a lot! I had a lot of fun making these above people tear off their hair out! As for me and honda, I like the real honda NOT hero honda which is sheep in tiger's disguise... ...I dont understand why people drool over hero honda bikes thinking they have some hi tech Honda technology. Hero honda's endurance is nowhere near the jap honda and people have difficulty in accepting this. If you understand me then do not decide upon any bike by looking out reviews on this site! Anyways, I wish a happy ride to you when you get a new bike. Ride safe! Cheers, Anand. p.s. my bike is 2 years old now and galli de chokre drool over it still! Its in perfect condition and people have tough time guessing her age, lol. Koi chhedta nahi hain par ;)Read More

'D' stands for digital, the ignition timings is controlled by a microprocessor. Its dual mapped using a throttle position sensor. The sensor is located near the carburettor of a DTSi pulsar (its a magnet with a switch) TSi - stands for twin spark plug ignition. Bajaj was the first to introd...uce this technology in bikes in India. You can refer the following links where it shows other reputed companies using twin spark plugs: ------ http://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/ Alfa_Romeo_Twin_Spark_engine http://en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/ Porsche_911 ------ Mercedes too has used twin spark engines. As far as I know one of the spark plugs is a primary spark plug (RHS) and the other one is secondary.. To check whether both the plugs are working simply remove one at a time & see... It has been verified on the dynometer by some magazine that disabling 1 spark plug reduces the power of the engine by 3-7% approx over the whole rpm band. (in other words DTSi is beneficial) Cheers, Anand.Read More

If you think that the bike has been messed up by your service center why do you sit quiet. Do not quit till ur bike's problems are solved to your satisfaction. >1) Knocking in the 1st to 3rd gear even if the spped is low. The engine may knock if you ride the bike at too low rpms, change ...the gears at around 3000-3500rpm.(or higher if you need more power) Use high octane fuels like extra premium and power. The cost difference is just 50 paise but the power delivery becomes damn smooth, silent and it will save ur engine. Get the valve clearances checked. >2) I always feel that thers is friction of cluth plate in the bike so the bike do not deliver the power. there has to be some friction between the plates otherwise how will the bike move forward? >3) In the heavy traffic it is very hard to drive the bike This makes your review look unreal and fake as if you are trying to defame one of the best handling bikes in India. Cheers, Anand.Read More

Ilyasmc, I havent since a bigger NUT here in MS. People have started comparing indian bikes to japanese ones and use the term 'Mass production quality' Unicorn doesnt have mass production - low sales - 1 month waiting period. Japanese SBKs are manufactured not more than 1000-5000 units... in a year, so take a break, have chai and DONT TALK CRAP. DONT compare unicorn and hero honda with bikes which rule even at 13000 rpm. :DRead More
