Dear Yash, I am surprised. Are your sure you were not paid to write this? I can imagine you were sold a lemon which had been driven as a test-drive car as a new car so all the faults. But still no one can ever say 'Fabric inside was cheap. The front dash plastic was cheap.' to the Civic. Which... lends credence to my belief that there are other motives to your review. One little favour please. Just get behind your car and verify once more. Does it say in big bold English letters 'Honda Civic'?Read More

You are right about the 77Hp bit being more than adequate. In fact I too test drove the SX4. Funny that despite the bigh 'on paper' difference of 77Hp (for City) Vs. 100+Hp (for SX4) it really doesn't feel that different. Wonder why the City horses are so much healthier than the SX4 horses?

You have issues with low mileage in a City? Dude, this is a car which makes two-wheelers look like fuel guzzlers. Get your dealer to have a look at your car. Or ask yourself what have you done in your past life to get such a lot of bad karma.

Hi Doc, Congrats for a well balanced review. Firstly, get your car checked. Despite driving like a hooligan I used to get 16.5 Kmpl on highways (my last car was a City). So there is definitely grounds for improvement on that front. You are quite right about some of the things you missed in th...e car but I would like to know why you missed some of the things you missed - 1) More interior lights: There is a centre lamp. Not too many cars in this segment come with rear reading lights. If you have a chauffeur and read a lot sitting in the rear seat isn't it more convenient to have a flexible 'snake' light fitted for Rs. 300? 2) The rear vents are for heater only. Hot air doesn't travel as well as cold air so the rear vents are needed in cold weather 3) I find it curious why people want a huge plastic plank which does nothing to performance or utility on their boot. Why do you miss a spoiler? 4) Rear wiper: Sedans do not have a rear wiper. Only hatchbacks & SUVs do. That is b'cos they lack a boot and the mud thrown up by rear wheels dirties the rear windshield. Before you say Skoda Octavia has it. . . it is a 'notchback' not a sedan. Just open the Octavia's boot and you will know it is actually a hatch! Just wanted to clarify some of the things you've asked for, hence the questions. Keep writing, Sujan :)Read More

Good review Chinthan. You probably meant the VTEC (not the CVT) for additional power. Keep writing.

More leg room means greater length. That means difficult to park & turn. Also means more metal. That means more expensive to buy. More metal = more weight. Means higher fuel expense. If you want more legroom get Dilip Chabria to customise a Volvo bus for you. Or shut up and pile up into the Alto ...like the rest of us :)Read More

The Suzuki Swift rocks. No, I mean literally! The co-driver seat mount is in such bad shape in 7 months /16,000 Kms. that it has become a rocking chair. The tail gate creaks, the window panes rattle, the floor console is shaky, the seat fabric fibre is coming off. My seats look fuzzy like Einste...Read more

Hi, I was eager to know what you felt. You explain the reasons why you shifted well enough but your follow through leaves us yearning for more. I suspect most readers would not so much want a feature run down (that they will check out on the Nokia site) but more your personal experience on the ...practicality of using the thing. I understand that you are still new to the baby. Why don't you add some more of your experience when you update next. Keep writing, SujanRead More

Hi Rajeev, I could not hold myself back any longer. A 380 is just spot on - the bitch really feels like an Airbus A380 when you want to squeeze her into a tight parking spot! Good review. Keep it up Sujan

Hi Moni, Brilliant analysis of the running costs of Petrol Vs. Diesel. But I find it a strange that people buy barges like the Innova or the Scorpio with a Petrol engine & crib about fuel economy. Look at the size, the weight anad the aerodynamics of the thing. No matter what technology you have... it boils down to simple Physics. The dealer's boy will lie about his own mother if he can sell a car. So believing naively in his claims is just being gullible. Even the motor magazine's claims need to be discounted by 20%. After all the mags make their money from the ads from auto makers and not the Rs. 50 you pay at the newstand. So expect them to 'stretch' the truth. Want fuel efficiency in a Petrol car, stick to an Alto. Or better still use the huge boot space to put in a CNG tank. Anyways average city speeds never exceed 40 kmph. Regards, SujanRead More
