Folks - I bought my City GXI 3 days back and I am very much impressed with the car overall. let me describe

Exteriors - the new models look much better from rear due to the extended tail lamps and gives a calssy look, I also notice that the rear lamp assembly has changed which looks nice. front is a sbit bland, adding fog lamps gives a little better look.

The front and rear seating is absolutely good. I am 5’10” and even after adjusting my driving position I noticed that I could comfortably be seated in the rear. The driver seat adjustment is good, and it gives you a confident feel when driving. The steering is a absolute thrill. I really love taking the hair pin turns, and I could prominently see that its got much lesser turning radius compared to my previous car – Santro. The power windows are very good and perform equally well when the engine is switched on and off. The iDSI engine is totally smooth. Once I start I literally have to rely on my tachometer to figure out if my engine is running or not – yes its that silent!

Mileage – I did not get a chance to follow that accurately. But here’s the story … when I picked my car from my dealer(Sundaram Honda – Hyderabad) the low fuel warning was on and the sales guy said it comes with 5 ltr  petrol, I immediately got another 10 ltrs filled once I got out, and today morning I saw the fuel lamp glow. I drove about 70 kms from the time I took it out of the showroom till now. Which means I am getting about 7. is it true that you get a bad mileage until the first service and there on it picks up? This is the only thing I was a bit disappointed about.

Stereo – the GXi’s come std with a alpine mp3/wma player with 4 spkrs. Its quite effective particularly with the silent engine you can hear all the beats and it matches quite well with the dash board as well. The car also came equipped with a remote locking(no burglar alarm/security system)

Other then the mileage I am quite impressed with the car and long to drive it every day. I plan on

doing a long highway trip on it shortly so will give more inputs then

By the way I have test driven the SX4 recently and felt that City is much better in all other aspects except power. Which is absolutely ok.

Guys - just to add . I ahve been driving my honda for about 2.5 months now and I dont do more then 15 - 20 kms each day in hyderabad(home office) I desperately feel that I should have gone for the CVT version. the reasons are straight . I spend more time flooring the clutch then releasing it, I have to be very cautious about not slipping it off, and also having to shift gears too often. I am so vexed with this that I so desperately want to move to the CVT given a choice to exchange this back with Honda. I initially felt that the 60 K extra was not worth it and thought that this will not fetch me good resale, but screw all that! CVT should be the one and only choice if anyone were to drive primarily in city conditions. Do not look into the mielage aspect at all, CVT I am given to understand is equally efficient, do not look at resale as there is a gradual raise in the sales of Honda CVT's. do not go by the sales men's words if they discourage you to buy CVT(thats what I did!) as you will repent it if the car is self driven, just like I am now!

but other then the whole gear shifting thing, Honda still rules!
