iam very sorry to hear the way u've been treated. I have experienced the same at Sundaram, hence I understand. They are the only dealer, hence they get away with what they want. But, Iam not sure if you have contacted Honda. Iam sure Honda respects customers better than Sundaram. I had co...mplained abt the suspension noise in my City and after not falling for their half baked techno sales talk, they put me thru to a Honda guy from Delhi. I told him abt the flaws in the suspension. He never agreed there was a problem and maintained that mine was an unfortunate 1 in a 10000 vehicle. He however offered to replace my suspension if found faulty. He also said that since bumpers in India were not the same standard size, the company chose to give the City a below average ground clearance. All BS. However the point here is that, if ou write to Honda(email will do), they will get back to you. Then u can screw these Sundaram cheepos in and out. You can and shud vent all your frustration and dissatisfaction with Sundaram to Honda and tell them this is highly unprofessional from a Honda dealer. You must also tell them that deserving customers like yourself donot have a second option to shop for a Honda in Chennai. (What the heck, Bangalore with worse roads has 2) You shud tell them that it is not enuf to bring in world class technology to Indian customers, but also route the same to the customers thru world class dealers and not bunch of wierdos whose only aim in life is to meet Hondas sales target. Good luck mate, if I were in your shoes, I wudnt waste thiss chance. We Indians deserve better, and if need be we shud drop the garb of pseudo civility and fight for our right to be treated with respect by such service providers. Good luck.....keep us all informed. cheers, petroRead More

Yes, the Automatic Civic does have paddle shifts in the S(means Sports probably) range. Its meant to deliver more power compared to an auto. This is world class technology that Honda is offering India, unlike most other brands. Thanks for pointing this out sujanroy. petro

DTSFi is not the first fuel injected bike in India, it is HH Glamour FI, as nitin pointed out. This bike has many firsts, great job by Bajaj. But sadly, it is in the same mould as the pulsars. This shows Bajajs weak Design Dept. Even the Pulsar is based roughly on Honda's CBx series, it is not a...n original design. Look at HH, they got 2 totally different designs on CBZ and Karizma, although CBZ reminds one of the CB400 of yesteryears. For the less informed, by looks, the DTSFi is the same as any Pulsar. Personally I dislike the organic shape that Pulsar has. Really sad, Bajaj was not innovative with design. Meanwhile the revamped CBZ might be something worth waiting. Lets see... cheers, petroRead More

Dear Friends, This is not a 'review' in the real sense of the word. I saw the 06 Civic at the Honda Dealer in Chennai when I went to have my City serviced. Man, I was blown away to say the least. So far I had only seen the pics on the Net and in magazines. I saw her in 2 colours, New Warm ...Read more

I agree. My GXi is 8 months old now. Interiors are a class apart. But suspension is made for roads in Singapore / Thailand. I skip a heartbeat each time I hear that sound. Ground clearance is disappointing. 4 occupants with their luggage will scrap the frame with even small bumpers. The Honda gu...y(from Delhi) told me not all bumpers are the same size in India and hence the design. That shud have lead the designers to have higher than normal ground clearance. As always, the City is a Honda, known for their miserly attitude towards design. Engine and trans are best in class. Mileage is class leading. AC is matchless. You feel the chill the second after the AC button is pressed. Lack of a CD changer in the GXi really sucks. The Fiesta offers digital tachos and a more modern display. The City is all analog, except for the mileage meter. Overall comfort is awesome. Went on a 860 km trip with 4 occupants. Took only 4 breaks in all. Never felt too much fatigue. The premium charged is for the engine and tranny, I suppose. I hope its there for my grandchildren to use. Overall a handsome package.Read More

Thanks Sandeep. I think all of us writing reviews and commenting on others reviews need to be logical. We need to grow out of CBZ vs Pulsar vs Unicorn vs ZMA. Probably our posts cud be a place where we cud voice our need for not too high end bikes(250 to 600 cc) in India and get noticed by manufactu...rers. Cheers, pRead More

friends, i agree our reviews are not completely fair, because the owner will have a definite bias toward his bike / make. CBZ is out of the race, but pls dont say it was shown the middle finger by the pulsar. Pulsar offers instant pick up, which is what creates an initial impression on any bike.... No wonder every 4th bike we see is a pulsar. That aside, i feel the pulsar doesnot offer many of the basic features of a semi-sports / tourer bilke. Pulsar is purely race design. I wonder what racing we could do on Indian roads. Whereas CBZ lets u cruise the open highway for hours on end and not pretend u r racing down a wide highway. Pulsar's posture is probably not best suited for long highway rides. It is best to get your girlfriend from her hostel to the diner, then to the pub and then wherever u decide to take her. CBZ is more poised, it is a mature bike. And speaking of the petrol consumption, it is not difficult to understand. Ever wonder why American car makes like Ford and Chevy consume more fuel than their Japanese counterparts. Thats because of the larger torque, not bHp, that they generate. Iam sure the die hard Pulsarians wud agree that the pulling power u experience on a CBZ is much more healthier than the Pulsar. So ppl, lets not abuse the CBZ anymore. After all, all u Pulsarians owe it to the CBZ that u r riding the coolest bike in India today. cheers, pRead More

Guys, The CBZ launched this category of bikes in India, so it deserves all respect. Even today I can take my eyes of a spanking CBZ. And its engine beat at high rpm is music to the ears, pulsars dont come close. It even beats the original p150 that was launched as a direct rival to the CBZ. The ...CBZ can be outrun by the p180 and all dtsi variants. Just shod the CBZ with really huge tyres, and u really cant stop feasting your eyes. If you guys didnt know already, it is based on the old Honda CBF400. If HH devotes the kind of effort and time that Bajaj has invested in Pulsar, then no doubt, you would have a world class machine, on par with the real Hondas on Indian roads. But economies of scale doesnt permit that. So guys, we should place CBZ on an altar and thank it for leading us to write and read all these reviews today. Cheers, BRead More

I guess CBZ is the first bike in this segment and its old too. so looks wise, the Apache looks more sharp and modern, but CBZ's chunky looks are still a treat to the eyes. Performance wise, i havent tried the Apache, but its pretty clear that Apache will beat the CBZ, in fact it beats the 150 DTSI... to the 100 km/hr mark. But I still love the torque laden thrust that my CBZ provides. As far as ride and handling goes, I guess CBZ rules the segment. Its like riding a Bullet, effort free and fatigue free. The Apache is actually heavier than the CBZ(136 vs. 130), but it feels lighter to ride. Thats prolly because its shorter than the CBZ and hence the Centre Of Gravity lies lower. The higher COG on the CBZ prolly explains why its such a sweet thing while going thru curves at high speed, not fully sure. I havent tried the Apaches handling, but from most reviews, seems like it lends itself into corners very well. As far as DTSI goes. I dont know how it compares with the Apache. But personally I didnt like the Pulsar's heavy handle. The Apaches handle seemed all too ready to follow the riders arms. Will post more as I ride her more.Read More
