Card points are big fraud. Nobody would know how much each point is worth until he actually attempts to redeem the points.

Bill, banks like only those who spend. They love more those people who don't settle full dues within free credit period.

When I called the customer service and demanded explanation on why they did not give me the data card that I was shown for demo(which was very good), he struggled to answer. The thing is the crappy data card they gave me is giving only 80kbps download which should be more than 200kbps. The modem use...d for demo surely does it and when I asked whether I can change the data card, I was not given proper answer. Instead, I was told I can download some boosters to increase download speed. I am still searching for them.Read More

When I was in UK, I used to get more than 210kbps downlaod speed on a 2mb connection. So 3.1mb is a big joke.

I tended to doubt whether Reliance has installed any virus in my computer during the demo. Because I had 2.5gb uploaded in 2 days. I reformatted my system and now the upload and download data are real. Also the modem they have used for demo is different from the one I am given. Yes, no doubt, they a...re highway robbers else they don't give 140kbps download for a 2.1mb connection. My doubt is they are actually supposed to give the demo modem to get that speed because during the demo the pages loaded very quickly.Read More

3.1MB connection with max download speed of 134kbps and you are happy about it? Reliance is cheating customers claiming 3.1mb connection to project itself better than Airtel which offers 2mb connections only. I dare Reliance to put a competition between the two. I also fell into 3.1mb trap after wat...ching the demo. The demo used a much faster modem and the modem I was given is a crap. Reliance is cheating its customers from the time of Modem sale itself. When my one year contract expires, I will ask for the new modem or else, I will shut them down. Also for new users: If you happen to take this data card, please check on the first day itself on the netconnect window the upload data and download data. I had 2.5gb uploaded in 2 days without me uploading any big files. I formatted my computer and upload data never crossed 100 MB.Read More

This a a great suspense thriller that is worthy of some more Oscars. But unfortunately, the competition this year was so intense. Juno is good but I would have preferred The Kite Runner in its place for best motion picture. And where can I place 3.10 to Yuma! Obviously in the place of Michael Clayto...n. Look at the list: No Country for Old Men, Atonement, There will be Blood, The Kite Runner and 3.10 to Yuma. In front of these movies, Michael Clayton becomes pale. It could be only because of the movie plot the movie couldn't stand as a marvel.Read More

Whatever mistake you made, he behaviour is unacceptable. But I am surprised at the lack of knowledge on your part that Kolkatta is still in India and it doesn't make any difference the place from where the card is issued. You could have made the payment from Jaipur itself. Wile dealing with private ...banks and credit cards we should make purselves familiar with all the rules and regulations and the options available in dealing with them. Otherwise, small issues could turn into big headaches.Read More

Yes, I also had to go to a nearby branch to submit such application. A big headache. HDFC is not that quick to embrace new technologies unlike ICICI. Certain payment services can not be used directly from Net Banking. Instead, we have to log on from payment services section.

ATM usage is a real headache in case of any bank. Luckily RBI is looking into the matter and forced the banks to reduce the charges on money withdrawn from ATMs of other banks to Rs.20 from Rs.50. From 1st April, 2009, there will be no charge at all. Thats really a good news.

Shank210, HSBC does not have any lifetime free credit card offering. Either you have to pay annual fee(first year free) or redeem enough reward points to make up for annual fee.True, the marketing people try to mislead you about lifetime free card. But it is not there at HSBC yet!

The best way to avoid skimming fraud is to change card pin number regularly. It is that simple.

Tovivenkv, there are some security precautions to be followed while using net banking like using the service from home only, keep our home computer free from spyware, regularly changing password besides checking transactions frequently etc. I doubt you might have compromised in one of those areas. I... love this service and follow all precautions. Besides I access my net banking from my mobile phone also. Sometimes I change password from my mobile phone just to avoid any chance a spyware catching passwords from my computer. As I said above, HSBC has the most foolproof net banking service so far. I will all banks would follow such procedure.Read More

KinKin, Its third party transfer. The account statement would clearly state where the money has gone! But I don't think it is of any use. ICICI bank has transaction password in place too where as HDFC does not have. HSBC has much better way - a token generating 6 digin pin every 30 seconds and this ...is the best way to prevent such things even if our username and passwords were stolen.Read More

Yes, I completely agree with your complaint regarding the add-on game. But I like to talk about your specific problem. When you added an add-on package, did you pay any money for that? i don't think you did. Whether it is good or bad, the reality is Tata Sky will reduce your one year package to the ...level where your one year money with add-on package will take you. If they deducted one year money for add on package, there is every possibility of your base package getting deactivated earlier than your add-on!! These people are very new to this kind of business. thatswhy mistakes(strategic ones!) are bound to be made by intelligent looking Tata Sky or any DTH executives!! As soon as some service provider comes up without the need of an anteena, i will shift to that provider.Read More

First thing is that there is no such card as lifetime free from HSBC. Yes, they might have waived your annual charges previously as you might have spent more than their target amount on the card. If you check HSBC website, you find info like first year joining and annual charges free. HSBC is not fo...r those who don't want to pay annual charges. Their marketing people might have misguided you.Read More

HSBC is my second credit card after HDFC. I did not get my first month's statement. But when I checked for the balance, it has shown the amount outstanding to be paid which is not in excess of what I am due to them. I paid an amount that is higher than the minimum amount to be paid. You could have p...aid in the same way to avoid penalties and unnecessary calls. For the second month I chose e-statement and I got it on due date. Payment of dues was the only concern for me because I never like the idea of paying through check. Luckily my HSBC credit card is Visa card and I chose to pay via Visa to Visa transfer facility(using my Visa debit card) that has come up recently. Yes, I need to pay some service charge for using Visa to Visa service.Read More
