Reviewed Dhoom 2

Dec 21, 2006 02:14 AM 1729 Views

First of all, Dhoom (the first) wasn’t all that path-breaking to begin with, so were it not for the new larger than life, and never seen before cast, I would have had little interest to see this movie. D2 is unforgivably soul-less. From the first frame to the last, it hinges on a terrible mon...Read more

I love how you analyzed the movie as deeply as you did! Good job. I really want to see Aamir's movie, but the reviews have mostly been lukewarm.. Good job!

well.. I beg to disagree.. as much as I think you make your point well.. 'literature' will remain literature. Interpreter of Maladies is a classic for all its flaws and the poignant storytelling.. as far as I'm concerned.. I think the book has mutliple layers that this review does not really take in...to account. But good review though! ~MRead More

I like your review.. but it seems rather sexist to me.. keeping all the male actors at the top and the female at the bottom. I thought Urmila was great in Pinjar... definitely better than Abhishekh Bachchan atleast... although well written, it seems to glorify the male heros... well, think about ...it. ~MRead More

well.. I might agree on some of the names you've mentioned... but your totally totally biased views on all this don't cater to my sensibilities.. And if you can't stand India and its people, then WHY THE BLOODY HECK DO YOU WATCH HINDI MOVIES?

well.. you should probably upgrade to kazaalite.. to avoid getting junk on your computer and also to prevent spyware tracking.. It's hell if you get that on your computer...

Kamini, i think I agree with your review to a certain extent. I do think that Sachin needs to be more selfless, and do his taxes, but that does not take away from the fact that he is a brilliant sportsman. But secondly, I don't understand how Imran could be your favorte person here(I'm not against ...him being at moutshut. I think everyone has a right to his/her opinion), because his reviews don't make any sense whatsoever. The point is not just to blurt out all your antagonistic feelings, it is to support them your idea with sensible evidence. This was Imran's statement about Mumbai: 'The People of Bombay, (I still have not figured out their Language) speaks some weird language, and you just can’t keep track of what they are trying to say. Their Language doesn’t have any sweetness as compare to URDU or PUNJABI. Take a short-term course in their Language.' This statement is nothing but a hate slogan, and is not doing anything constructuve at all. If your friend Imran, has the right to be as obnoxious as this, then Mr tendulkar definitely can be a little possessive about money. Read More

Great review Paromita! I totally agree that they need to bring in other people besides film personalities, because let's face it.. i think Kiran bedi's life is definitely more courageous and worth talking about than someone like Aishwarya Rai's. It's almost as if we're supposedto workship film peopl...e like they've done soemthing out of the world..but not quite.. Great reviw though! I love your writing style. ~MRead More

Great review dude! I think all your points are valid. I think Hindi directors tend to forget that 'nativity' that your so nicely mentioned. You cannot just 'remake' a movie without adding realism particular to that region...

lazylump(nice ID, by the way..:)) Thanks for a balanced review on this movie finally.. I totally agree with you.. This movie definitely deserves more credit than what it's been getting.. The director's subtle touch is a treat, no doubt.. Not to say that it's a masterpiece, but it's definitely a goo...d, decent, and sincere attempt by a director who's not being given a fair chance, thanks to his legendary father.. Great work though! ~MRead More
