I was one of the go getter of Nokia N73 when it was released in India @ Rs 24800. Since then the trouble begins. Initially I was very happy and every thing worked fine but gradually I learned that it was the biggest mistake I had ever made. More than 20 firmware were released by Nokia in 2 years and... still they were unable to fix all bugs of Nokia N73. The phone worked nicely for few months after every firmware update and then gradually start showing itz true colour. It’s so slow and you feel like throwing it away. But it was all hard earned money which kept me away from throwing it. Note that it took atleast 4 to 5 hrs to do each firmware update and adding another 4 to 5 hrs reinstall all phone applications, phonebook etc. Moreover while updating the last firmware the motherboard went dead and I had to pay Rs 4000 to get it repaired. Also once you try to update the firmware you will be shocked that their is again a new version of Nokia Software Updater. So now if u want to update the firmware you would be forced to download 70 mb nokia software updated first and they try ur luck with firmware update. My question to Nokia is why cant the phone be tested properly before launch of product so that they don’t keep releasing firmware updates. This is waist of time and money of customers. Just think how they would be using their N73 phone who does not know what are firmware updates and must be still struggling with issue/bugs/slowness/poor performance. The most painful part was reading SMS. To open a sms it takes 20 seconds. Phone hangs and with time the performance would further deteriorate. And only option left for you is to keep restarting it so that next 2 hrs are hassle free. From yr 2006 till end 2008 they have released more than 20 firmware updates but all in waste. All updates came with bigger blunder and bigger bugs. My advice to all here is stay away from Nokia. Go for other brands they are 200% better than Nokia. Historic list of Nokia N73 firRead More
