I completely agree for the following problems. I’m using it since a year now! 1) Putting it on center stand, yes its heavy for ladies, and many simply avoid that! We finally bought a brand new scooty separately for this reason. 2) Starting problem: Choke is ALWAYS needed, even after driving fo...r a while! Another problems: a) Head lamp: too weak, angle can not be adjusted properly, upper beam goes in air! b) Horn: too weak, infact on my Activa, the side indicater is LOUDER than horn c) Honda service: sucks, they employ cheap minors to do the job, the service stations are dirty (Sterling Honda, Chinchwad, MH), unskilled staff. My Activa has a BAD front shock absorber, however, HONDA says unless its cracked or licking oil WE can not do anything! c) Skidding: Its designed only for smooth plain rodes. Ride it on a uneven road (just 1" in deep pot-holes) and you get a feeling of a bullock-cart! It does SKIDS easily, be aware, always, always wear helmet if you ride Activa! (any bike, but with activa MUST!) YES, ITS AN OVER-HYPED SCOOTER IN INDIA!Read More

I agree, I should have mentioned that in the review. THEY are powerful and may damage any weak camera, so one has to be very sure about the compatibility! Generally they are good for old mechanical (NON digital) SLR cameras like Nikon FM2 or Pentax K100 and similar !

Mine also has similar starting problem! Many time I've to use the choke for a long long time! Apart from this there are many other problems too: head light is useless, horn is very weak, infact the indicater buzzer is louder than horn!

I agree that the shock absorber is really bad and works fine on good roads only. The moment you drive it on a bad road, you will feel that its a junk product!

viv1984, I've even shown it to a mechanic, he checked and showed it to me that the front absorber is bad. Basically, even when the vehicle is just standing, the spring is almost compressed. As a result, when it hits a small bump/pot-hole, there is not enough tension to handle the shock! (which reac...hes the shoulder!) The mechanic even mentioned that this is a well known fact (defect) of Activa, and suggested to get the absorber changed within the warranty period. This is why I suggest new buyers to get the shock absorber inspected from a mechanic before getting the delivery. About 'Honda are king of automobiles', why are their service centers and post-sales services are so pathetic? They said they so not have anything to 'check' the shock absorber, and unless its broken or licking oil we won't replace it! Should they not have the necessary equipment to test the pressure of a shock absorber?Read More

Akash, the research said that Activa is a family vehicle, ride quality is very good etc. I specifically said 'lottery' since few people are also saying good about it. But one should not forget that 34% members are saying something else!

My experience is totally bad. The shock absorber is bad: started back pain, need to give choke early morning till 1-2 kms, light is third class, customer service is below third class, there is hardly anything positive! I regretted my decision to buy!

Even I faced the same problem with the shock absorber. Had complained this to the dealer in the first service itself and they said a 'bush' was misplaced! This is a fantastic car, but dealer have cheated you, assuming its a Vxi, you should have got it for around 7, the average discount allover India was around 70k. Even I've purchased this car less than a year ago for Lxi mode for around 6. And I do not regret my decision to buy this car. At the time ...of buying it I knew that its going to get phased out! Contact Maruti and inform them about everything, except price I'm sure you will not regret your decision.Read More

I notice your comment abt India and 100% satisfaction. Its the failure of the management to ensure 100% satisfaction. I'm sure each company wants to have 100% customer satisfaction. However, its the 'DEALERS' who are spoiling the company plans. These are the 'DEALERS' who are earning cheap m...oney by following slavery like employment practices! They want to earn HUGE profits, but want to pay lest to their employees! So, if the employee is not satisfied with their salary, hey, who bothers what is the quality objective of the company? Three weeks ago I've purchased a new Activa, and to my shock, I believe someone had used it for few days, there were lot of scratches on the side guard, I've filed a complaint with Honda and following it!!!!!Read More
