Satiafactory so far (for past 14 months). Review on Honda Activa

I don't know about the back and spine problems that I have been reading in the reviews of the Activa here, (I have been using it for the last 14 months) niether do I know much about the mileage(never got the determination to keep track). But so far, (touchwood) the scooter has been smooth riding. Having to use choke in the morning should not be counted as a problem, compared to the  Hero Ezee SX.(which my younger sister used to use before she finally gave it up) which refuses to start even with choke if not used for a fortnight.

First, the Postives:

1.I like the Activa for its low noise, it compares with other scooters like Maruti compares with Ambassadors.

2.Also its looks are good, even though the scooter is more than expensive compared to Bajaj and LML's geared scooters, and also Kinetic Nova. But the Japanese have a superior product and they know it, so they charge more. Otherwise in a fiercely price sensitive market like India, the Activa would not be having a waiting period for delivery even after the high price.

1. I never had a problem with servicing, although I purchased the Activa at Durgapur, WB, but the servicing has always been done at Metro Honda, Bokaro, Jharkhand, wherr the people are very nice.

4.I am a regular householder. so most of all I bought the scooter primarily for the weekly bazaar trip for which it's storage capacity is suitable. Sorry for the college crowd, your trendy "bike" is being put to such humdrum chores.

1. The tyre never had a puncture till date.(1400 Kms)

*The Negatives:

*1. The rear view mirror is not at all correct, it does not give proper view of the rear.

1. Mileage: if so many people are complaining, it must really be a problem

   
   




2. Self start: If Honda is charging so much extra becuse of the self-start feature, (compared to the Eterno) they should ensure that users have no complaints. Should not cheat believers.

   
   

My advice to would be buyers would be that this is India, here you can never get a perfectly satisfactory product, but if you buy the Activa, you have a high chance of facing the fewest complaints. If you want a low cost alternative with not so trendy features, go for LML.
