Well I do not know where to start. But Madras (chennai) is not even in my list as a city to live unless I have no choice. I am from Bangalore but it has got nothing to do with it. I used to stay in Madras in T- Nagar. My In-laws are also from Madras and let me tell you about my experiences the...re. 1. Last year when I visited Madras I stayed in Adyar. This was in March. Though my in laws have AC it would not work since there was load shedding. I sweated and sweated and it was just unbearable. 2. Smell - If there is a city for the worst stink/smell then Madras will top the list. It is smelly, unbearable and filty. 3. Rude people - People in Madras are most rude. Even the way they talk in such a high pitch it makes me go deaf within a short time. It is a cheap place to stay no doubt. This is because no body wants to stay there. Of course some people stay there because they have no choice. In fact I have lot of friends from madras who have moved to Blore and say that they will never go back to Madras inspite of the bad infrastructure in Blore. Madras lacks the sophistacation like Blore or Bombay has. Read More

This is a nice informative article. But I am not sure how anybody can live in a place where everything is censored and women have no rights at all. If a person's motivation is to just make money then it is fine. I would rather stay in a country where I am free to do anything I want

I am not sure whether this review is about the airline itself or about Indians. I think we need to seperate this. If it is about the airline then I cannot say much since I have not travelled on this airline. But I have heard that it is pretty good but sometimes individual experiences can be bad.... With regards to Indians, I hear this complaint about indians not behaving all the time. But it is true with other's also. I am of Indian origin but settled in USA for a long time. I come to India every year and have had very good experiences with the Indian passengers on board. I find the airline crew to be rude towards Indians because for some reason they think that we are inferior. I have a review on this site about Malaysian Airlines where they refused to give me good beer or put me in a shabby hotel just because of my color. But I complained about this. All of us Indians whether we are settled abroad or in India needs to be sure that they are treated equally or demand equal treatment. When you complain it works. I have seen lots of other passengers who are not Indians getting drunk, creating a scene etc. But If a Indian asks for a extra drink however politely it is seen as rude. We need to get this wrong impression away from us and start thinking about our own people positively.Read More

I know we Indians abroad still crave for our lovely National Carrier Air-India. I am also amazed to see the lovely ads in USA for Air-India. But your experience is truly humilating for a person. I admire you that you still have your senses in one piece. About 4 months ago the same thing happen...ded with MAS in Bangalore. I had checked in the baggage when they annouced that the flight was cancelled. Though there wass some confusion, MAS made alternative arrangement to fly to Singapore and then to Malaysia and USA. But in Air-India nothing will happen. It is still the good old Indian antique which never cares for what the people want.Read More

Actually you forgot to mention that Bangalore is the best in the world and that is why so many people love to hate it. Yes traffic is a nightmare, sanitation is bad, power cuts are frequent. But that is the charm. If everything is so good then it becomes very boring. Well I have never had any problems with Blore airport even with regards to trolleys and absense of authorities. I landed from KL to BLR close to midnight and there was plenty of trolleys and helpful staff. In fact I found the airport better organized than Hyderabad and Madras which I visited 10 da...ys later. Man, Let me tell you my friend something. I am a born and bred Kannadiga. I do not care whether Tamils make up 50% of Blore or not since Kannadigas are very tolerant. We get upset when the following happens: 1. Tamilians stay for generation in Blore and cannot speak a word of kannada or p...retend that they do not know 2. Tamilians take the jobs from kannadiga's because they will work for anything 3. Tamilians badmouth blore when their livelihood depends on working in blore. Chennai is the worst smelly city anywhere in India. So If you hate blore then I have a piece of advise. 'Just leave Blore and go back to Chennai or wherever you come from since they are more people from all over India and the world for that matter want to settle down in Blore. Read More

But I have been away from Blore from the last 16 years living abroad but I did make a trip just 3 months ago and did not hear about this. Well I will next time after reading this. OK, If mine is a weak argument then the proper thing to do is to protest to the airline. If you think that Jet is not responding to you then do a huge favour by not flying on it. Nobody is forcing you to fly Jet Airways. You are being absurd here by making baseless allegations that Jet ow...ner is not allowing other services. Do you have proof that you can document and provide? Just do not make baseless allegations without having proof. Just show me that Jet Airways owner is obstructing others. I do understand and you are entitled to your opinions. But you have a duty not just to yourself but to others when you make wild and unsubstaniated charges by providing proper evidence. Millions of people both Indians and foreigners have travelled Jet and they are all very impressed. For Indians who did not have a choice before and now they have Jet Airways is the best thing that can happen and I wish there are more airlines that will follow suit.Read More

My friend. Maybe KLIA is the first Intl airport you have seen. Other than being clean and new there is nothing else there which can be compared to other world class airports such as in Singapore, Hongkong and Seoul. The airport is clean and nice but the facilities are less than friendly. First... of all after you get down you take the train to Immigration. This is a hassle by itself. Then the duty free shops are more expensive then the little one I found at Bangalore Airport. Even the eating places are expensive including the McDonalds on the first floor. Agreed If it is your first airport that you have seen outside India then you will be surely excited. But there are so many better ones out there and when you get a chance do visit them and you will see that KLIA is nothing but a big elephant which is always empty.Read More

I do not undertstand what you are trying to say. I have lived overseas most of my life and taken almost every known flight to India from US. In India I have taken all airlines and find Jet Airways the best. In some respects Jet beats even the best such as Singapore, MAS and Emirates. For a short... flight it is very common for Jet to provide full hot meals, hot towels and newspapers. Sometimes flights gets cancelled and the routes get diverted. But it happens to all. Maybe they had to reroute the plane to Bangalore first and then to Hyderabad for operation reasons or security. But the point is why are you so mad about the owner and the billions he has made. Jet provides the best quality product not only In India but also competes against the best in the world. So let us not get too much hyped about all this rerouting. Jet is a great airline providing premium service and puts lot of airlines to shame. Read More

Being a original Bangalorean I have always had second thoughts of going to Chennai. Whenever I have been there I have become sick. But the last time I was there I ate at Sharavana Bhavan and it was excellent. I have also eaten at several other ones recently and they are really good. The best ...I ate was a chinese one (I dont remember the name) and it was smashing. I think now Chennai is way ahead of Bangalore in good restaurants.
