'WELCOME' TO BANGALORE?THE SILICON CITY & THE IT CAPITAL OF INDIA.

Yes this is the fact of Bangloru (local accent) and the philosophy is the same sloppy ?SOLPA ADJUST MAADI?---COULD U PLEASE ADJUST A BIT???

This jargon has been there everywhere throughout the city. Esp. the infrastructure i.e. roads full of potholes, flyovers still in the making and the frequent power cuts have become the landmark of this place. To top of it, one can witness the worst scenario at Banglore Airport. It belongs to HAL and the proposed Airport at Devanahalli is still IN THE MAKING??.

Last month I had to face horrible time at the airport. Compared to other airports in metros, this one is very small and faces space crunch. Also the airport authorities are never visible here..One never knows what they are doing.

For the past 3 years, Ban galore has been my home and I frequently travel by air. Its quite common to face flight delays and lounge there. But I have never faced problems while returning back to city.

On Jan 2nd, 2005 (Sunday), I was returning to Bangalore from Mumbai by evening flight at 4.30pm. As the Christmas vacation was over and 3rd Jan was the school-reopening day, all the flights were full with passengers. After delay about 1 hr, we finally made it to Bangalore.

Once disembarked, we had to fetch the trolleys to put the luggage. This airport has only 3 conveyer belts and on that evening, it was another fish market. The crowds of nearly 100 people were waiting to get their baggages. All the flights from Mumbai, Kolkatta, Delhi and Chennai had landed up almost at the same time. There was utter confusion.

The passengers from Chennai could not find their baggages in any of the conveyer belt. But they all were holding the trolleys and unwilling to give to those coming from Mumbai whose baggages were already unloaded into the conveyer belt.

As I had to retrieve 4 baggages (all due to heavy shopping), I was searching for trolley. Since I had my little daughter with me, I did not know where to find it. Fortunately my husband, who had come to pick us up, took hold of her and I confronted a police inspector at the airport. He told me to go down to the street to look for the trolley. Normally one is not allowed to enter airport once checked out. But he assured to getting me in once the trolley was around. I ran frantically to the road outside where hordes of cars and taxis were parked. There was only one trolley visible and I literally grabbed it and marched inside. I got my bags out and felt really relieved. Phew!!

This has really made me ask these questions:

1.Where are the AIRPORT AUTHORITIES? There is no place to lodge complaint and nobody comes to ur help.

2.Why does one face such horrible situation in a city, which boasts, of technical superiority?

3.Where are the attenders to bring back the trolleys to the airport once disposed by the passengers outside?

4.What happens to foreigners ?read the Japanese and Chinese who are not v fluent in English and new to the city?who too are caught unawares by this.

Yes, I saw many of them who did not understand what the police said. They were shell shocked.

I did not find any place to lodge my woes and finally found one in the Internet.

There is a website called https://airlinequality.com/Airports/Airport_forum/blr.htm. This is the only platform to address the problems faced by us. I have done that and hope some action is taken. They have assured to get back to me once they have verified this incident.

I m still waiting???????????.
