As goes the cliche for Thailand, the Bangkok Intnl Airport also is indeed a land of smiles. For a developing Asian economy, the airport on Vibhavadi road is very well planned. With a vast array of attractions, you can find something interesting whether you are arriving, departing or transiting Bangkok Intnl Airport.
For those who have just arrived at Bangkok, you can be out of the airport terminal within 30 minutes after landing with your immigration & baggage clearance done.
In case you need visa on arrival, you can be assured that you will be out of the terminal within an hour.
You can enjoy duty free shopping at the terminal immediately after baggage collection. so if you wanna pick up that special carton of Marlboro, Benson Hedges or a couple of good wines/alcohol, its a good bet.
Just outside the airport terminals, there is a kiosk for prepaid taxis charging just THB 50/- over the meter fare. If you opt for a private limo, the fares will be much higher.

For passengers leaving Bangkok, the duty free shopping arena is much bigger, a very efficient VAT refund counter for your eligible shopping in Thailand. The refund is immediately credited to your credit card or in cash as per your choice.
The information is well displayed in almost all parts of the terminal enabling you to know where exactly should you go. The airport is very busy but the staff very very friendly & helpful. they have made provision for smoking rooms at distances so that the puffers can satiate their desires.
the sad part about Bangkok airport is the additional THB 500 levied on every international outbound passenger [Not for Arrival/Transit & Domestic Travel]
