Sonal, You've really captured the essense of this beautiful book in this review. It's been some time since I read it last, but the review brought back some of the emotions I felt back then. Have you read the sequel to this: Oliver's Story? Even that's a very touching book, and touches more com...plex sentiments. great reveiw, keep writing, Amit.Read More

Hey Arati, Thanks for including Accha ji mai haari... It's a perfect song. And who can omit 'pahela nasha?'.. 'Dil Kaheta Hai ' was also a beautifully picturized song.. it stunned me the first time I watched it.. keep writing, -Amit.

KKHH was way too boring movie packed with sleek cinematography. I revealed one great truth though: unless you drop the pallu, you won't get your man. This was one of the most sexist new age movie I have seen. The tomboyish Kajal is 'just a friend', the moment she wears traditional (designer, as you ...note) clothes, she's hearth-throb.. pathetic movie. Haven't had the heart to watch HDDCS.. I'll take your opinion on that one :-). Rest movies were also equally pathetic, but at least weren't such big hits.. -Amit.Read More

I couldn't watch this movie past first half an hour. It was just too loud. If I were the editor, I'd cut most of Kiren Kher's shots, most of Ash's shots, most of the film. The music was the only consolation. keep writing, Amit.

Aarti, I wouldn't give 4/10 to it's columns, as they might be controversial, but they are thought provoking.. at least some of them. Nice review, thought.. keep writing. Amit.

I find some of the description questionable, though. e.g. There existed a program which aimed to assimilate the natives into mainstream. They did this by rehabilitating the children in foster homes and groom them to be housemaids and workers. Rehabilitation doesn't mean uprooting. and assimi...lation doesn't mean 'being forced to change ways'. This line alomst seems to be taken from official propaganda.. That's really pedantic, I know. Nice review otherwise, compact but informative. keep writing, Amit.Read More

Hi Alaina, I had never heard of this movie. If I'm not wrong, similar things were attempted in India with the so called 'Denotified Tribes'. The film sounds interesting. Thanks for the well written review. -Amit.

Now that I look at it, I see that I've two songs at 18! that already makes the list 21 songs long. But after going thru all this trouble, I'm not going to change it. -Amit.

It speaks a lot of truth, but is too emotional. Not easy to read. It looks like an excerpt from a heated debate with a friend, not a review. Otherwise, the points made are well made! -Amit.

Twenty best songs of Lata-didi? Let's look at it this way: one song per category? that beats twenty; one song per major Music Director? easily beats twenty; good songs in 1960s/1970s/1980s? still, beats twenty. This one person has done it all, in many languages, different types of music; you nam...Read more

Haven't read Toklin (surprising?), so can't say it it's weird. But what Burgess has done here, is remarkably witty.. for example, for chaplain, he uses 'charlie'. Or badiwaad, for bad (bad-wad).. This apart from the russian roots based words.. it's really some interesting stuff.. -Amit.

C l o c k w o r k O r a n g e Anthony Burgess' book Clockwork Orange is hard to classify. Those who have read Orwell's ''1984'' or Huxley's ''A Brave New World'', would find some similarities here, especially in terms of the concept. But that said, the book deserves a lot of praise for the o...Read more
