I had booked a Maruti Gypsy King MPFI (ST) model from Sai Service JM Road over 2 months back by putting a down payment of INR25000/- vide cheque drawn on ICICI, having sold off my second hand Gypsy King (carb) a few days earlier! I was told that I would get my car "within a month". Now I underst...Read more

Regular flyers have noticed the changes a long time back. Infact many passengers, especially single ladies and age group above 40 had already started coming back to IC in a big way. As for food, IC has long overtaken the others, except KF now. ANyone tried out their new business class meal servic...e? Its awesome and beats the pants off Jet! Their only problem is presentation. Jet outscores IC in this by a wide margin! Read More

This doesnt look like a review but more like a point of view. Or to be blunt: an unsubstantiated rant. MS is supposed to be a site for reviews. Suggest deletion.

He he! What is a low-cost bank?? And i would advice you to go easy with remarks like 'stupid'. The airline is not a babysitter. And an LCC has even lesser margins to play around with so dont expect to get pampered. THe problem is that some pax like this INOMORON are simply too spoilt and... haent been able to adjust to the new LCC culture which enables them to fly in the first place! An LCC, unlike the full service carriers like IC or 9W, are very much like the railways or he bus services. Once again: would you throw a sissy fit like this if the Railways had lost your luggage? :-D So why should it be different for an LCC?Read More

I never said i develop software for spice, but that i develop software for other airlines. Anyway that snot the point. The point is about expectation. Do you throw a fit at the railways if you 'forget' to pick up your luggage from the Train? Why should i tbe different for ailrines? With an LCC li...ke OS you You pay a bit more than a railway AC fare for hte convenience of reaching early. If you want the convenience and pampering, pay full fare (or even better Business class) and fly one of the full-service carriers like IC , S2 or 9W that use proper (and expensive) software to keep track of baggage etc! Airlines like Spice and Air Deccan are LCC's: thats low cost carriers: you get what you pay for. They cut costs wherever they can and yet offer a safe journey. THAT is what you should expect from a LCC. IC or 9W would probably arrange to send you the luggage, and even THAT i doubt. Its important to temper expectations!Read More

No inomorr I am not a spice mole! But i do develop software for airlines and understand a little about how the airline business works! I think many passengers have a overexpectation from teh airlines and often blame airlines for no fault of theirs. I have seen many such people while travel...ling who raise a stink at the slightest provocation.Read More

YOU forgot the luggage at the airport. They did call you to inform you about the misplaced luggage, and you asked THEM to send it to you? Why should the airline (and a LCC at that) bear an expense for no fault of theirs? You should have informed them that you would be collecting the luggage. The air...line is not responsible for baggage that is not collected by the pax after disembarkation! I dont think security rules will allow this! What you should habe done is promised to collect the bag(s) yourself and request the airline duty staff to keep the baggage securely. The airline is required by law to hand over unclaimed baggage to security agencies which is what i presume spice did. Once b4, I had forgotten a bag containing camera lenses at the airport which was located byt he duty manager. Bcozz he knew me as a frequent traveller he kept the bag aside and I went over to collect it personally. That is the way it works! 'Asked the airline to send it home'! Ha ha! Thats rich! Thanks for the laugh! If the staff prmised to send the bags to your house/office then yes it is their fault. They had no business making such a promise. They should have told you point blank that you may collect it from their office.Read More

There was obviosly a communication gap, and who was at fault is not clear here. But ocnsidering the tone and language used in this review I would rather take the side of the girl at the Jet Airways counter. Infact I give full marks to Jet for the way they handled the situation. Alteast they gave u a... refund: even though they were not entitled to: i think the floor manager just wanted to washi his hands off the case! PS: I am JP member and travel regularly with both IC and 9W. My experience has been that 9W is a great operation when things are fully under control. Things start slipping only when there are problems like delayed flights etc.Read More

Spice (and Deccan) are LCC's. You get what you pay for. If you want air service with all the bells and whistles: take IC or 9W.

I have said this before and I say this again: the only thing that separates Indian Airlines from private operators is presentation. Their meals are of a much higher quality than Sahara or Jet. It is just that they are not presented well. Same is the case wit ticketing services, ground handling etc.... there is another side to this story. People seem to treat govt property as 'baap ka maal' more than they do on pvt carriers. The whole attitude from the time they step on a plane is different as compared to Jet. The same passengers who sit quietly like mice on Jet Airways act very aggresively with the national carrier. Indian Airlines staff have to put up with a lot more of this crap than the staff at pvt carriers. In that context, i think they do a fantastic job.Read More

The CRJ is a good idea: allows for jet services on routes like Gorakhpur which wouldnt support A320 or 737 ops. However the seat pitch really sucks and sahara has ade it worse with the layout. They should remove the last row in economy which is right opposite the toilet! God help the poor soul st...uck in that seat!Read More

Deccan is an LCC, while Jet, Indian Airlines etc are full-service carriers. You shoudnt expect full-service treatment on a LCC. The problem is we Indians are horribly spoilt. Across the world, even full serv ice carriers like American, United etc have cut down drastically on service levels. Its o...nly on Indian Airlines that will serve a hot meal in economy class for a flight over 40 minutes. I have seen instances where flights on US/European carriers (so called full service carriers) of over 3 hours where we have got NOTHING in economy and a baked cookie in Business Class!Read More

AFAIK, you will never get a cash refund for a payment made by credit card. No airline does it so it isnt Saharas fault. I have had to cancel bookings made by credit card b4. In such cases, the airline gives a credit vouchers and I deduct the amount payable from the credit card statement b4 making... the payment for it. If the credit payment has already been done, you adjust the amount in your next statement. Alternately, the airline might give you an option to convert it into a 'open ticket'.Read More

Seat Pitch on Jet(~29-30') is certainly less than on Indian AIrlines (~32-34'). However overall Jet remains by far the best option for the specific route (Indore). Keep in mind that Indian airlines does not operate on thsi route which is served by its subsidiary Alliance with 737's.

I am sorry to see that you had a bad experience with Jet. However in the larger scheme of things, I stil believe that Jet is one of the most professionally managed airlines, and by their presence they have lifted the standards of the entire airline industry in India by forcing Indian Airlines an...d Sahara to upgrade in order to compete. with regard to rerouting: Rerouting floights via-3rd destinations is routine practice in the airline industry. The BLR flight for the day might have been cancelled for tehnical reasons and the operational staff at mumbai may have decided to combine the BLR flight with your HYD flight. Or it may have been the other way round. Look at it this way: you got to your destination while the BLR passengers also got to theirs albeit with a delay. Would u rather one of the 2 flights was cancelled altogether?Read More

First of all its the Thibaw palace. Secondly, the scene from the movie 'Dil Chahta Hain' that you refer to was NOT shot in Ratnagiri. It was shot in Goa: a place called Chapora fort.
