I'm in accord with mbfarookh - never too late to write our own perspective. It's great to read reviews by a variety of 'thinkers' written at various times. MS never puts a 'tiime-limit' on subject matter...do your thing, shellymum24!

I've yet to view this movie - your review is a prompt for me to do so. I'm old enough to remember when McCarthy's scare-tactics hearings were taking place; makes me very appreciative of our TV newscasters and the 'stand' they took to rationalize the abuse of our politicial powers in U.S. It really w...as a 'black' time in politics, and apropos that the movie be in black and white! (only B&W TV back then :o)Read More

I've seen the movie, found it 'entertaining', and enjoyed the photography. Like you, it was 'hazy', 'tho (thought my eyesight was fading :o). Really enjoyed the history you've given us in this review...it's been too long since I read the story!

I was putting going to see this movie 'on hold', until reading your very good review! Now, I'm almost ready to head out the door and see RIGHT NOW! Thanks for this 'complete' review.

This is a marvelous movie...Epic - Yes! Enjoyed your review and especially the extra on the History. Another movie that I have the video, and watch again many times.

I recently (by accident) bought some Philly - Whipped - Mixed Berry, and thought What have I done? Surprisingly, it's pretty good...on a toasted bagel! Still, my fave is the Original :o)

Have added this book, plus his others, to my list of books to buy. Fortunately they are old enough I may find them at Half-Price Books! Very good review that 'tweeked' my interest in this author! THANKS

Sex movies, both Bolly- and Holly-wood, may sell for a while, but they get no rewards or awards! Too many are for exploitation of the male or female...no good plots. Really enjoyed your review...will be reading more :o)

I may have a 'slanted' view about this movie, as my Maternal Ancestors are from Ireland; but the movie is really very good. I qualify it as a Classic! A Must See! Main Players: John Wayne - as Sean Thornton Maureen O'Hara - as Mary Kate Danaher Barry Fitzgerald - as Michaleen Flynn (...Read more

These are all excellent choices and good mini-reviews of each one. But...one you overlooked, or may not have seen, and is my top fave: The Quiet Man - starring John Wayne, Maureen O'Hara, Barry Fitzgerald, Ward Bond, Victor McLaglen. It's an older movie (circa mid-50's) directed by John Ford. Look f...or it - I think you'd like it.Read More

...with your review. I found this movie a delightful surprise. Especially the antics of Grant's room-mate :o). Good review...the movie is a light fantacy to enjoy. J. Roberts and H. Grant were perfect casting! Micke

Enjoyed your review...good one! BUT...I liked this better than 'Identity'. The car chase (in taxi) was equal to - or better than - Steve McQueen's in 'The Getaway'. I didn't mind the 'shakiness' of some scenes; thought this gave authenticity. Totally agree Matt Damon is purrrrfect for this role...an...d can't wait for the next film of the trilogy to come out! You SHOULD read Ludlum's books; he was at his finest with these. MickeRead More

Were you aware that the game of basketball is the 'invention' of a Canadian? True...Dr. James Naismith, born in Ramsay township, near Almonte, Ontario, Canada. But it wasn't until he moved to Massachusetts and became Sports Director (I think) at YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts, U...SA in 1891, that he initiated the new sports game of basketball. You've convinced me to buy and read this book. Never too old to learn more...:o) (but first, I must read 'My Life' by Bill Clinton...after I finish reading a mystery novel I've just started). Thanks for reviewing this book, I might have overlooked it.

I probably would stand in those long lines to dine on what you have reviewed :o) Since I'm in Texas (U.S.), I'll be satisfied to eat at the 3 very good Indian Restaurants available to me here in my city. Would have enjoyed reading of the 'contents' of the foods you mention, but...this is a review fo...r Restaurant...ok.Read More

I could not give you a VU, as it was more of an essay than review. There were so many aspects of the movie you could have written - the cast, director, etc; their artistic abilities - and you forgot to do so. Watch for these aspects in your future movie 'reviews' :o) Micke
