You seem to prefer song sequences to actual scenes.. Anyway , from ur list, i would pick the climax of sadma as my fav... There are just a couple of movies which had me weeping.. This was one of them.. the other ones being a tamil movie.. mahanadi.. also by kamal... And, a malayalam movie called..... Vatsalyam by mammootty.. No other so called tear jerkers I've seen are so intense or emotional... Few even make us laugh.. especially the ones u mentioned in the beginning... Long lost brother's reunion in an underworld hide out.. and the like... Anyway, coming to the best scenes... I would like to add to this list, the scene from Munnabhai, were sanjay stops answering the questions he had 'rat-marified', after jimmy shergill's death.. The climax scene from Anand after rajesh khanna's death.. The comic climax of the old movie.. Gol mal.. The list goes on.. and on... Luv, Swapna.Read More

Hey.. I don't remember this ad at all.. Don't think it was very famous, as most of our other... commentors(?) don't remember this as well... Anyway, regarding display of intimacy in the ads.. i find it disgusting... to be precise.. I mean, it is okay for any ads related to contraceptives and all..... but, for a cooldrink or icecream, absolutely unnecessary... Having a romantic feel to the ad is okay.. but, something similiar to the Kwality Walls ad , or some.. deodrant ad (don't remember the product, but, it is a firangi ad with a lady entering some guy's room coz of the smell... ) .. that was just yuck! Anyway, there might be lot of u.. who like this kind of ads... but, personally, i don't.... Luv, Swapna.Read More

The thoughts u have put in are good.. Environmental pollution is a serious health hazard.. A byproduct of so called global warming... But, the review could have better points.. Wrote the revu, after being stuck in some traffic?? I mean,The revu sounded like u were totally vexed up with this prob...lem... Anyway, that was a good effort... Luv, Swapna.Read More

I thought ur sisters were in their swimsuits.. Then, how come 'her new shirt was ruined with ketchup stains' ??? Whatever that was, ur review was nice... It is good to learn some manners.. Calling a waiter 'ugly' would be really humiliating.. But, then, u can't teach much etiquette to a 5 yr ol...d.. u just got to wait for ur sisters to get older... Luv, Swapna.Read More

Most of my friends who had seen it, don't recommend it.. So, i haven't watched it yet.. However, i did watch the malayalam original in TV.. As u might be knowing already, all Priyan's films are based on malyalam hits of 1980s.. This one is a remake of 1986 film Boeing boeing, and mohan lal essayed... akshay's role... And, was a good comedy... But, how far this would be relevent in the current scenario is doubtful... Anyway, nice review there.. Regards, Swapna.Read More

This is a mad, mad world.. Everyone craves for beauty, and, if the cream tells that u would look better, u would definitely run for it... But, then, does being 'fair' amount to 'beautiful' ?? I guess not.. Then, why do we run after the fairness creams ? The makers are lucky to be able to mint money... because of this craze.... Remember fair and lovely's 'lucky girl' ad ? That was so, so, mean... And, then, pray tell me, what does being fair have to do with cricket commentry (Genelia in an ad with Kris Srikanth)... That was the limit... And, now, we have a 'fair and handsome' cream for guys ! I know quite a few ppl who've been using fair and lovely all their lives.. Haven't become a shade lighter ... When i laugh it, they say, that if they hadn't used it, they would've become darker (!) because of the pollution, sun, etc,etc.... What an explanation! When there are ppl like this, who swear by the brand, fair and lovely is going to rule the roost for quite more years to come.. Cheers, Swapna. Read More

That was a wonderful list.. I like all the movies u mentioned.. Jaane bhi don yaaron was more of a satire than a comedy, what do u think? My list would have replaced Deewana mastaana, and coolie n0.1 of ur list with 1) Golmal - My all time fav.. Watched it more than 10 times.. 2)Chupke chupke....... Dharmendra and Amitabh in a laugh riot .... Remaining would be same - andaz apna apna, and hera pheri.. Would also include munnabhai, i think.... Luv and regards, Swapna.Read More

All the songs u mentioned are good, but, hey, Kavitha ji has sung quite number of melodious songs.. All the songs in ur list, have the heroines dominate the singer, don't u think ? All the songs u mentioned, are 'Dance-centric'... It's more Ash's song, Sridevi's song, and Madhuri's than Kavitha's....... Anyway, it's ur list , and ur selection, so, i am not complaining! I've seen the movie, and liked that... except, of course, the scene where the sentence goes all wrong... But, then, it left a very sad feeling behind, and, i was hoping that john would be spared, but, he wasn't.. Regards, Swapna.

Hi... That was a sweet and wonderful review.. I like the song very much.. it has a shubha mudgal style of singing... Wonder who sang that... Anyway, do u really think the ad was very cute.. I mean, if ur wife wakes u up, and , instead of giving u morning coffee/tea, asks u to take her on drive,... would u really love that?? The reason for my doubt is, normally, in my house, my hubby prepares my morning coffee... And, if he asks me to jog or walk before that, i get really furious.... Luv, Swapna.Read More

Utsav has an excellent ambience, and they claim to have won prizes every year.. Still, I didn't really like the north indian food served there.. Most of the curries taste the same.. I mean, the masala was the same.. Southie food was better over there... Regards, Swapna.

Nice revu on a nice ad... Though there is nothing very great about this ad, it reminds us of the varied roles portrayed by the versatile actor... This ad pays a well-deserved tribute to one of my fav actors.. amir khan... Regards, Swapna.

Hi, I like almost all the ads endorsed by kids.. This one is no exception. Bharat Petroleum's was a feel-good ad, although i must admit, i didn't understand it initially... Some kids have the charm to keep us glued to the ad... Not switching channels in middle of the programs... BTW, do u li...ke hdfc standard life's 'na sar jhuka hai kabhi.. ' ad ? I just luv that.. Nayantara has got looks and glamour, and is also ok in the acting department. She is lucky to be working with most of the top heroes in malayalam, as well as tamil. Hope that she gets lucky with the younger heroes as well.. Because, if she keeps doing the nice, homely characters with ppl old enough ...to be her uncles, our film industry would be too eager to see her in behenji roles than glam doll ones.. Hope she gets to play her age.. Some, naughty, young role.. That is what i look forward to , from her.. Way to go girl !! Luv n regards, Swapna.Read More

Hi Suresh.. Maybe after all the good things you heard abt this one, ur expectations were quite high... I read it couple of years back, when i was a teenager.. Just luved it at that time... We see so many movies with similiar stories, so, this one isn't much different.. But then, it was writte...n so many years back, right ? So, was a 'runaway hit' ! Luv, Swapna. Read More

Hi Rajeev, That was a nice review on how will and survival gene (!) can overcome deadly diseases.. U r more like 'Munnabhai'.. love for the patients and their own will power cures ailments which medicines cannot... All of us would agree that , in adverse times, it is good to do everythin...g we can for survival, and remain happy till our end, rather than feel sorry for ourselves and increase the pain.. But, how many of us can live with it, if , we have to live with an incurable illness. Very few of us, i believe.. I know someone who battled cancer, and had suffered to an extent which made us feel that it is better if God takes him away.. His death was a relief to his family, who believed that he was relieved of his agony.... Hope a day comes when all these kind of ailments find their cure and are wiped off the face of humanity ! That was a good review. One of the paragraphs had me opening dictionary.com ! But, even the dictionary didn't have the meanings... Swishfiggler, snozzcumber, etc.. Were these invented by Roald? Anyway, good to learn about him and his style of writing... Would try and get hold of any of his works ...(this one, if possible).. Do you buy the books and read them, or get them from library, or online copy? Would be nice if you can provide a link for the books u review, if any of them are available online.. Think about it ...
