After reading all these reviews and not exactly being a fan fairness creams myself, I am kinda astonished and even surprised at the panache with which HLL manages to carry off Fair & Lovely as a product and the guys who make the ads....JWT or O&M I think...though not sure.....!
The product as one HLL employee (whose name he did not want mentioned) described is nothing but just a sunblock. that too not one of the better kinds......After all this Fair & Lovely manages to capture 90% of the 700 crore fairness cream market....My ! thats quiet an achievement......
I had an opportunity to conduct a survey on fairness creams brands...and out of the sample of 72...not one used Fair & Lovely (or at least they claimed they did not).....It's an issue of the ego you see....'' I am not enamoured by fair skin...I am happy the way I am'' but deep down inside...I am sure there is this nagging little feeling about wanting to be just a tad fairer.....It is precisely this 'fairness is an asset' Indian mentality that the likes of HLL and CavinKare are cashing on......
But again, I am all praise for the way they do it.....manipulate consumer behavior ...which I am taught is the most difficult thing to do.....So there you go....not exactly an informative review about the product...just the other side of the coin.....I don't use F&L but I still appreciate and aspire to sell a product with the acumen and consumer understanding that HLL possesses....
