Initial mileage can give such terrible readings. Give it some more time, maybe a couple of months to see if it improves. Poor A/C and fitting is news. Bad workmanship or pure mishandling at the dealers end can be an issue. You gotta be patient with Tata to get these fixed (maybe get it covered by th...e dealer/warranty.) Search the net and you may be able to get in touch with some top officials from Fiat and discuss your problems (there's some official fiat blog where it may have some contact details.)Read More

There's one more interesting anomaly. The Tide packet's are of non-standard weights (like 450grams or 700grams.) They do obviously have this written in the back but I somehow felt it was sort of fooling the customer. You look at the big price tag on the front top corner and pick it up immediately on...ly to later learn that it's not 500gm or a 1Kg pack and you have to kind of do a bit of calculation to figure the price of a Kg.Read More

Good info but reading a huge paragraph without any line breaks can be very annoying.

Thanks Avi, that's a pretty big compliment. But no, I don't write for any auto magazine, though would love to if given an opportunity :-)

This car is sheer beauty. I have been following the Linea since it was first unveiled in Istanbul, Turkey and now I can feast my eyes on it right in our beloved country! Thanks to Fiat for bringing in this car so soon. Surprisingly, this car is now sold in many other countries except for the cou...Read more

Hi Balaji, Thanks for the review. I was hoping that the pick up on the diesel variant should be pretty good (as per the fact sheet.) Overall power may be less but this is certainly a surprise. How did you find the gear shift? As for the boot release, I too saw the same when I made a showroom vis...it. It took a good thump down to close it tight. Also the plastics looked a bit dull - which I believe should look neat once it's cleaned and polished. Overall the car looks very impressive. Got to have a test drive and experience it's true calling. Thanks for the post again.Read More

Hey, I read your review in anticipation that you'd give us some numbers/facts about the Linea engine compared to city/SX4 but was disappointed to read a generic analysis. As far as I understand, it's a combination of weight to power ratio and also the peak torque versus RPM that defines the overall ...'pull' that the engine generates. If you can put in the numbers than it'll be a great review. Till then, I have to give it 'somewhat useful' rating.Read More

There's a lot of disconnect - having gone to check a Honda, you land up checking Fiat as if there was nothing satisfying at Honda itself! Both are great brands and as far as I have read in most of the auto magazines, Fiat Linea has got very favourable reviews. The looks for sure is eye-catching and ...attractive! Even the interiors look better than Verna or the new City as well - no doubt about that. And as many others have also pointed out, if you haven't driven the car, how can you judge it fully!?!Read More

Looks like you made a decision without using discretion and then realized that you didn't want this car! That shouldn't make the XETA such a bad car, cause a majority of reviews in the forum feel otherwise. Also, you must give details (like when you talk about spares etc.) to support your point-of-v...iew. Sorry, had to give it a 'Not Useful' rating.Read More

Hi Rheupeiti, Since you are going for tubeless on your new car you don't have to bother about wheel alignment. But wheel balancing is needed. The steel hubs tend to be heavier while alloys are lighter (not always though.) Anyway, it's fine to put tubeless on new steel hubs (i.e. they are in good s...hape now.) Happy driving! Hi Blue.9! Well, if you go by the ROI is terms of money spent vs the effeciency achieved, then it'll take a dissapointingly long time to recover it. But let's look at it in a more practical viewpoint. Alloy wheels do cost more and if you can choose one with careful consideration it DOES save you a ...handsome bit. How? Here it goes: 1. Light weight helps reduce the sprung weight of the car. So better steering/handling. Minor increase in fuel effeciency too. 2. Alloys are good at braking heat dissipation. You can drive longer without worring about too much heat generated. 3. These don't rust (unless you go for Magnesium, which can oxidize) and are very easy to clean. Saves you so much hassles of maintaing the wheels! 4. Alloys are better suited to take the bumps. They bend more then developing cracks. But I'll caution you here that these are not so good for off-roading. 5. Looks. Though lowest in the priority but has significant 'wow' appeal to them. I'd also suggest that you couple them with tubeless radials. Do these two at the same time and the sooner you do, the better it is. Let your new car get the right dressing when its young and 'learning' you (your style of driving.) Don't just look at the car and its equipments as mechanical units but treat them as a complete set that has so much science going into it! It's going to serve you for long and you'll surely love driving a car that's got the right stuff for it to take you on such trips! Maybe I'm veering into the emotional aspects of enjoying a car... but I guess that's when you start enjoying it without inhibitions. Hope you aren't distracted by this discourse. Hi Rajesh, Congrats for your purchase. GLG variant comes with front power windows, left-side ORVM, rear demister, front fog lamps and fabric-lined door inserts. So I guess that makes up for the 20K that Tata charges. I have a GLG and got auto-central locking fitted by the dealer. A few give and t...ake here and there :-) BTW, the backside of the stereo slot cover will have a detailed wiring layout diagram. The wiring is already provided, so you can save some money on that. Xeta is definately a good car to drive and enjoy, so hope to hear more on its pro's (and cons) as you find them! Regards, SupreoRead More

Hi Mohan, I can't really figure out why the dealer is saying so. The alloy wheels are finished much better to take tubeless radials. One guess is that the XETA is much heavier compared to the other small cars. I can suggest you to go for a bigger tread size (Plus Zero) to about 175 if available. T...he standard is 165 (These are numbers for the tyre's detail... 165/65 R13 77H and denote a host of information. This reply will be too small to detail all that :-) I run my XETA on Bridgestone Radials of the same size (i.e. 165) and have had a good experience so far. I'd suggest go for tubeless radials. For Ajay, As for your query, I had replaced my wheels so early in the life of my car that I really haven't experienced the difference. But, I can say one thing for sure, the breaking heat is dissipated really well (the large vents on the alloy and the fact that they absorb heat more then the steel ones. You can touch the wheel after a long drive and feel the temperature!) Regards, SupreoRead More

Hi Manu, I have been travelling with Air Deccan for quite some time now (6 flights so far in a year.) I've so far had delays but not more then 30 mins. which is kind of OK. I have been alert by SMS (and Calls of late) about my journey, which I found to be a nice touch. The only problem that I see... is their boarding process... it's chaotic as there's no seat numbers provided. If they can manage this rush, they'd definately make it a better experience.
