I agree with everyone here. This is a great review! Jack Black is a good actor so It's great that you picked up on this. I remember the original is a 'classic' in Hollywood and used to be shown regularly on t.v. For the producers/directors to choose this movie was a risk because who would be inter...ested in King Kong nowadays? This was evident in the theater attendance that you spoke about. Sadly I don't think this film will do well in the African-American community because during the time that the film was set 1920's-30's black people were often 'servants' so this film will remind us all of the stereotypical roles that blacks had in films in those days. Grown women were often referred to as 'girl or mammy' and men were often referred to as 'boy or george/joe' One or two names to refer to ALL of us. So it's a pretty bitter part of our history. I wonder if the new film version showed this treatment like the old one does? *edit* hey! my smiley just turned blue after writing this..what does that mean??Read More
