If you call FAPS a money grabbing school, I don’t know what you will have to say about the others. As far as I know, FAPS has one of the most affordable fee structures, so what if they ask you for how much salary you make. How can you judge the merit of a 4 year old !!! I say all this because I stud...ied there for 12 long beautiful years. My fee started out at Rs.50 per month (not a pie extra). By the time my sister was in school (6 years later) it was Rs.150 per month (again not a pie extra). Now, after 2 decades it is still nominal, because I went there for my daughters admission.Read More

Bishop Cotton Girl's School, Bangalore is one of the best schools for your daughter. My daughter has been going there since June, 2009 and so far, I have only good things to say.  Here are some points: -One of the oldest schools with traditional values -Discipline is high on their priority...Read more

Sorry to hear your story but I have to explain the other side of it. We went for admissions to Cotton Girls for my 4 year old daughter in March 2009 and had an EXTREMELY pleasant experience. We were both there with our child at the time indicated, and ours was token 2. We were asked to meet the Prin...cipal who was really polite and explained to us about the school and admission process. We had a few questions which was gladly answered by her, following which we got the uniforms and books ordered for. Rs.400 for a uniform, in my opinion is just fine because this includes not just the uniform but also bloomers and socks. And considering the fact that we didnt have to go to any tailor and run after him 4-5 times before we get the uniform, this was a good deal. On the other hand, the school is only trying to help you, nobody is forcing you to get the uniforms from the tailor provided by them. You can always get it stitched elsewhere. On the first day of school the uniforms and books were given to us, we met with the class teachers who gave us a comfort feel. Besides, the one thing you failed to mention is that CSI students have a discount on the fees and is Rs.24800.00, nothing more to be paid. Some people have this notion that schools like Cottons and Baldwins are filled with arrogant administrators, when it is far from the truth. She has been going there since June 5th and I am happy to say that we as parents are really glad we put our daughter there. She has also been going for swimming lessons and also coming home learning one new song, every single day.Cottons has been around for ages, my mother-in-law and her sisters studied there and now my daughter and I am truly proud. One incident like this should not be taken in the negative sense. Most schools expect both parents to be there and when you go for your childs admission, remember to keep a day aside with your spouse only for that- FORGET ABOUT WORK FOR A DAYRead More

Yes, Amsterdam is a very different place. I went there last June hoping to see the tulips but I believe the season ends in April. We travelled from Belgium to Holland and on the way we saw an amazing number of windmills. I sure would love to go back!

It is definitely a pretty exasperating ad :) but the main idea of an ad, is to get peoples attention, which I think they have done successfully, even if it is in a negative sort of a way. Now when you say 'Wah Sunil Babu', everybody knows which ad you are talking about, which means they've done a go...od job:) However, my all time favorite (recently ) is the Hutch ad. Lets hope we have more of these rather than the 'Wah Sunil Babu' and 'Fair and lovely' types!!Read More

i bought a pair of b&ls some time back and believe me, it was the worst pair anybody could lay their hands upon. My eyes would become red and swollen after an hour and these were a brand new.

I agree a 100%, with you. There seems to be more and more of these silly ads on tv these days. The sad part is that a large majority of Indians buy this nonsense, you should see the way Fair and Lovely creams sell in India!! Only can hope that over a period of time, people here will understand that ...no matter how many tons of cream you put on your face, the skin color would remain the same! Like you said the obsession for the fair skin is prevalent all over India, which is really really sad.Read More

I have a CoolPix 3100 and faced a similar problem with the battery, infact mine lasted only for 2-3 snaps initially, with the LCD on. However, I bought 2 rechargeable batteries and a charger (for around 1k at Dubai bazaar on Brigade road). With this I can now take around 60 pictures at a stretch, wi...th absolutely no problems. One more thing to remember about rechargeable batteries is that the more often you charge it, the longer life it has.Read More

Your review was simply hilarious :) I agree with you totally especially those stupid Fair&lovely ads. We talk about racism in the West but very rarely do people in India realize that ads like these openly condemn dark skinned people. A bunch of crap that a whole lot of people are willing to buy.... Then offcourse, you brought back memories of 'Palmolive ka jawab nahin' :) There is one more ad I cannot stand and that is the LG Flatron ad where Shobhana (my all time favorite who let me down with this one) tells her son 'teri ankhon ke liye hi na? '. But like LowOil mentioned bad ads can have as good an impact as a very good one like the latest Hutch ad (the one with the dog following the little boy).Read More

Your point on cabling is very true. Being in the networking line myself, Ive noticed that in a lot of companies, engineers never pay attention to the cabling. Not only does is make the room look terribly messy, it also results in weak and distorted signals and when some kinda maintenance or change n...eed to be done only God can help them.Read More

Dishnet DSL offers good speed, but gosh their services are BAAAAAAD!!!!!! We had a regular dial up link in our office and soon opted for a DSL connection. For whatever reasons we retained the dial up line. However, around 70% of the time, the DSL link is down. There customer support team consists o...f a group of people who doesnt understand the seriousness of a link being down for hours at a stretch. When it rains, you can bet on all the stars in the sky that the link will be down. For all those who are thinking about Dishnet DSL pleaaaaaaaaaase think twice. Read More

I think its not fair to blame the site for not being able to sell your product. I put my product on sale and I couldnt sell it either but I did get a few enquiries and so on. It all depends on the buyer. For instance, if you look at the Ebay site, you will find thousands and thousands advertising an...d maybe a handful get the benefit of it.Read More

One would'nt think much about the place when you enter it. It's not one of those places that have a great ambience like Caesars or the like, just ordinary tables and chairs and so on. The menu card is pretty straight forward too, with no descriptions of the food but the first thing you notice...Read more

A good review but I think I beg to differ. During the time FM91 started in Bangalore it was loads of fun. Who can forget the Rohit Barker- Vera duo? Also, it used to be a big mix of Hindi and English songs, classics etc but these days not only are the RJs kinda boring (made up laughters etc), ther...e are mostly only Hindi songs, except offcourse during the retro show and so on. But on the whole good work on your review.Read More

That was simply great. The 'new age' actresses simply make Hindi movies more boring and 'content-less' than they already are. Unfortunately in India, the pretty faces are sufficient to satisfy most of the masses. Gone are the days of powerful acting!
